Not a good look. I wonder did he go because this was going to come to light?

A few are still in RTÉ e.g. they don't have a stills department anymore so there is a guy on linked in whos still with RTÉ since 1976... now it could be he's still there they just don't know it and the stills department full title is
I AM STILLS HERE BUT THEY DON'T KNOW DEPARTMENT
I think it is a 3 year contract.
I knew a lad who used to work in the Army payroll department when they computerised it. He would be full of tales about discovering people being paid who had died and others who had yet to be born!
Well I suppose RTÉ just got rid of AERTEL!
I could understand those that died somewhat but not yet born? Where did they send the money?
Vietnam!
However, Ms Martin admitted that no financial provision has been set aside to compensate the workers for the entitlements that they were denied.
Likely because they have already been compensated for the entitlements that they were denied, since in general contractors are paid higher than employees to offset the lack of sick / holiday pay, and the lack of pension and health insurance etc. Contractors are supposed to pay for these things themselves out of their higher earnings.
Contractors also have mechanisms to avail of certain tax benefits not available to employees.
Would be some laugh if these contractors manage to get themselves contract rates for all their years of work for RTE and then retrospectively also get the employee benefits, a nice windfall for them, and THAT would be scandalous. Though it seems Imelda Munster doesn't understand this at all based on her quote in the article. It is a bit concerning how poor an understanding of these things some of our politicians and journalists have.
Tubridy has cancelled his appearance at the Women and Agriculture conference.

Load of rubbishy Tubs stories in the tabloids recently.
NK Media have to justify their fees I guess.
So you think this thread should be close so that we should have some peace and get on with our day?
It seems with 30% of people who normal pay their license fee that they haven't moved on.
It is terrible to think that other people go on a opinion thread to tell other what they should be thinking about, but offer no actual opinion on the subject other than in the context of all the other issues we should really just move on and let RTÉ continue as is, They do a fine job after all? right?
He's doing great apart from the shite guests
Would the 'contractors' be liable for income tax/PRIS on all their fee income as well? The revnue could have a field day on RTE and the bogus employees in that case.
It seems even sadder and more obsessed to me that someone who seemingly has no interest in hearing the "same talking points repeated" on the subject of Tubridy and RTE would go to the bother of reading the thread or posting on it at all.
Unless you had some new angle or update to share?
If you wanted to avoid the subject you could just ..... ya know.... not bother opening the thread? Or posting in it? But you took the time to and continue to.... Curious.
7 years!!!!
27 more like??
This stuff has been going on since the era of Uncle Gaybo and Mike Murphy.
Good. Hope it's cos he was afraid of being asked about the 150k. Media should be relentless about this.
I see Tubs has backed out of the headline speaking event he was meant to do.
Bit of a strange article by Ellen Coyne. Talks about the event in different tenses. Makes it sound like its upcoming, but also says its on Oct 11th.

Has Tubrity got himself a new job yet?
He's trying to decide which one to go for from the many offers he's received.
Has he already been paid for it...?
She said it had been announced on October 11th that he'd be a speaker.
Regards...jmcc
Yes.
I dont see how revenue would allow people to have it both ways. "Oh you were contracting for years but claim now that you were actually an employee the whole time? Well as well as getting your stautory benefits, you owe us a heap of back-tax..."
I had sent an email to the organisers asking how they thought Tubs and his 150k were appropriate for getting this gig, but got no response.
The wimmin in agriculture must be some of his Instagram fans, given how unfortunate they think his pulling out is.
PS "According to the pre-publicity material, he would have been asked about “hosting an iconic chat show, presenting radio programmes and writing best-selling books”.
Wtf has that got to do with women in agriculture?
The word is " women" not "wimmin"
Tubridettes
Brendan Courtney and Sile Seoige covering it, guess Oliver Callan is busy tomorrow.
They are all "broadcasters", aren't they?
He was going to call himself Ryan To Bridie for the purposes of this event...
