God bless your eyesight. They look like standard round European 2 pin in the photos but I’m no electrician
I used to be an electrician.
Schuko, used all over continental europe. We have to be the odd ones out again using the UK system!
Looks like this guy tried to live completely off the grid. I'm not really sure whats going on but it looks like just a site with a caravan that has a few PV panels, turbine, and well. Seems like he blew his budget and never finished off his project
Sligo city. Sligo is in no way or shape or form a city.
I was getting excited until I read the small print that neither the container, nor the mobile home, nor any of that PV / turbine / battery system is included in the price. So just a derilict building on less than an acre in the middle of absolutely nowhere with nothing even remotely nice or civil within even a full hours drive. Yeah, keep on dreaming about nearly €100k
(I have to admit I am dreaming a bit about this)
And what's going on with the roof. Is that the old roof or new? If new why are they building it inside the walls and not over/covering the outer walls.
You would want to tread carefully, there is no sign that there has been any planning applications on this property and no mention of any sort of water treatment /septic tank. Whether there is connection to the water supply is not entirely clear, and evidently there is no connection to the power grid.
I hear banjos 😁
This looks perfectly fine for the right person/couple.
It would be like living in a box. A tiny box. And that's before any furnishing. They show a bathroom sink, but not the toilet or shower? Where is the kitchen? Fridge / cooker / kitchen sink?!? Washing machine? Heating?
I take it from the photos, they have two "units" for rent, as you can see these two are separate and not interconnected.
I grew up in Ballymote, it must have considerably closer to Sligo since I left cause it’s a lot more than 16km to Sligo, 16 miles maybe
There was a couple if years in the late 60s where they were used in Ireland, before we switched to BS1363.
It's literally nothing more than a shed with an ensuite.
Put two people in it n they'd be killing each other in days.
It's two sheds, one person in each for €500 each was the way I read the ad?
Where are ye all getting the €500 🤔
It says €850 for both when I look at it.
He changed it. Yesterday it was €500 per cabin .
Talk about greed. 🤬
I was replying to someone who said they'd be grand for a couple. I assumed they meant a couple living in one of them.
Either way it’s unlikely he has planning for them. Could be an expensive lesson in planning for him.
There doesn't appear to have been any planning applications on that site since a small estate was built in the 1990s.
When I read that, I thought the amount was increased, it thought it meant €850 for both, not each!!!
Jesus, a €350 increase in one day!! 😲
There is now a big
PRICE IS FOR BOTH UNITS
on the ad. I wonder is the owner reading the thread?!?
Well if they are reading this thread the should have a long hard look at themselves.
Hi John.
No planning, unverified BER probably pulled out of your arse, and two glorified dog boxes advertised as studio apartments. Will you register with the RTB and pay tax on your rental income?
At least it will be handy for you to keep an eye on your unfortunate tenants with the big windows in the front of them.
Missy Bottom (see YouTube) was/is selling his place in Sligo for a lot less than this. Much bigger derelict house, decent outbuildings, small cabin, polytunnel and caravan included.
I remember that place it was posted here a while back.
Oh yes it is. It has a cathedral and the required population level.
Notions of a city. If by your logic Athlone is a city too as it also has a cathedral and is larger by population than Sligo. And again Athlone is in no shape or form a city.
Cities in Ireland: Dublin, Belfast, Cork, Limerick, Galway, Derry, Waterford.
