Feels like the right time to start a new thread for next year's gigs.
John Mayer playing the 3Arena on 29 March 2024.
That was amazing alright. Up there with the best gigs I was at.
Liam Gallagher on 23rd and 24th June at 3arena
Smashing Pumpkins and Weezer 3Arena 10th June
That came out of nowhere
Smashing Pumpkins with support from Weezer on the tenth of June. Great news
Ha **** me that's unreal
Have seen Smashing Pumpkins and Weezer separately and both were great. Will definitely be there to see them both on the same night.
MCD were up early this morning so..
Take That doing 3 outdoor shows also
Smashing Pumpkins and Weezer is a co-headline according to the Weezer email this morning.
It looks like those behind the new arena in Manchester are driving the timing of announcements
Liam Gallagher email:
"The local legend returns to Manchester for 3 nights on 15, 16 and 27 June 2024, celebrating 30 years of Oasis' defining debut, 'Definitely Maybe"
They announced 7 Take That dates last week
That’s interesting, I would’ve said Smashing Pumpkins are bigger? Not complaining mind
Totally agree. Not complaining either 😁
Great news but why does it always have to be June.
Because undoubtedly they are going festivals in europe the week or two before or after like primavera or rock werchter etc.
june has a lot of the key European festivals like Glastonbury, primavera, roskilde, rockwerchter which anchors USA bands for that month.
that how band routing of tours works.
Indoor air-conditioned arena may become the preferred June venue the way things are going....
Don't think 3Arena has air conditioning though?
Nice announcement today, must be years since Smashing Pumpkins played here
I'll wait and while til I pick up a ticket esp with cost etc
Is this the gig that was mentioned over the weekend here by @Fanirish
Mid-week concerts are a pain for us non-Dubs 😫
Nah another announcement this week
My poor bank account 😄
This time of year is truly frightening
You dont have to buy now, especially with all the platinum nonsense going on nowadays, theres almost always tickets available for shows closer to the dates and often at cheaper prices.
Theres no incentive to buy now for alot of shows.
Know Foggy Notions as an announcement due to tomorrow morning. Hardly the same one nah?
True but nice for convenience to get the ticket cost out of the way
Yeah there's usually some production tickets released a lot closer to the time
Godflesh in Opium, Saturday 11th May: https://mcd.ie/artists/godflesh
Absolutely essential gig for those who like it heavy, loud and slow. Last time they played was one of my top gigs of 2022 😁
Pretty sure they do. There's gigantic ducts on the roof. Always nice and cool in there. As opposed to the Olympia where I nearly collapsed from heat stroke at Wilco last month.
I was at a gig in three arena when it was really hot outside. Up on 22° and it was melting in the three arena.
Would not be one bit surprised if GNR play here again
Somebody mentioned acdc applying for croker permission last week and earlier today heard this rumour on radio nova. August 17th was mentioned.
Could be Foo Fighters either
