You'll love this section;
There's more than 1, from the junction by the Radisson blu there are 5 on the outbound side and 17 houses and a pub on the inbound side turning straight onto the DC.
Yup, and the curvature of some of the bends isn't enough for 120kmh motorway anyway.
It'd be lovely to sort out that entire stretch (and move the DC away from Bunratty Castle a little), but none of that will sort out the M20 at all.
Eamon Ryan warned on the consequences of holding up road projects
No doubt he'll cock a deaf 'un to this as well...
Great to see funding for the M20 is ring fenced going by budget 2024 and the newly formed infrastructure fund. Another step in the right direction.
It’s a pity that the M20 design has the handbrake on to keep our buffoon Minister of Transport happy. The 500m corridor won’t be reduced to 100m until Sept 2024.
It’s the same story as the M28 to Carrigaline. Delay delay delay. It’s a pity the Ryder Cup isn’t on in Ringaskiddy.

The M28 isn't delayed.
Yes it is. The main contractor (who ever wins the job) can’t start until Q1 2025. That’s at least 15 months away.
What you are seeing being done now is advance works. Cork Co Co managed to get them started in order to speed up a project the minister is trying to slow down.
OK, but it was supposed to start in 2024. I guess Q1 2025 isn't too bad a delay.
If the Greens were not in government the M28 would probably be started now. Eamon Ryan has delayed it any way he could for the last three years. He has made sure it did not start during his term of office
In what way has he delayed it?
We have a Transport Minister who openly admits that he is totally against road transport - and yet posters here refuse to believe that he may be stalling projects.
The 'Residents Association' taking the planning permission to the High Court is the reason that the M28 has been delayed. The Greens and Ryan have nothing to do with delays.
Where has he admitted 'he is totally against road transport?' The Greens policy is to rebalance funding so that public transport, which has suffered generational underinvestment finally gets the level of funding it requires in order to grow the bus and rail networks. The rural bus routes for instance which have been rolled out over the last few years provide an invaluable service to those in outlying areas linking townlands and villages with local towns and onwards to regional cities.
Actions speak louder than words kids.

And yet, N28 was not delayed by this... any extra work for new rules was able to be completed while waiting for the numerous legal delays on this project. Notable presences at those protest meetings were local FF and FG TD - I suppose that was Eamon Ryan using his mind control powers...
This article actually states that Ryan allowed the M28 to proceed, which is the opposite to the point you are trying to make.
He let one proceed. Hip hip hooray!! No funding available until 2025 though. So in effect it’s stalled until then.
The majority of the rest are stalled at various stages. It’s quite simple, whenever TII need his approval he leaves it sitting on the desk
Is there a reason you didn't link to the article in question?

That fellow of the Ryans has been at it again, this time the Cork NRR which would be connecting to the proposed M/N20 at Blarney/Killeens. Hopefully the good folk of the northside and surrounding areas remember this at the ballot box. The man is a terrorist towards progress.
Key report on Cork's Northern Ring Road not acted on by department in 12 months, claims TD (echolive.ie)
Unfortunately it is fairly well known that the N40 North Ring is one of the projects that Eamonn is sitting on, not allowing it to move.
These posts would be better off in the roads log jam thread. Maybe a mod could move them.
Unfortunately progress with the M20 is similar to a snail going to Jerusalem
I have cross posted the article about the North Ring in the thread for it. Continue discussion there please
Some sort of M20 update due to be posted on Corklimerick.ie at 12 noon on 27th Nov.
The local cllrs are to be updated at 11:00 so they have an hour to be posting the most recent update on their FB and Twitter accounts to make themselves look useful before it’s public knowledge 😂
Limerick councillors are getting a briefing at 9:30 that morning. If councillors are being briefed I'd assume that were getting the final route corridor and junction locations.
