Israel has asked the German government for ammunition hopefully this doesn't have a knock on for Ukraine especially if Israel has a protracted ground war
German new program Tagesschau reports on their website that Israel has requested ammunition for warships. If I were to hazard I guess, I'd say we're looking at ammunition for the 76mm OTO Melara guns used on the Israeli Navy's Sa'ar-6 class "corvettes" (more like small frigates, but I digress), which were incidentally built in Germany. All of the other major weapons systems in use by the Israeli Navy seem to be indigenous, and Israel has the capacity to produce those themselves.
If that is the case, it shouldn't affect the flow of ammunition to Ukraine, as that country has no need for 76mm rounds, owing to a lack of warships equipped with the OTO Melara mount.

Jaysus a bit mad given how short of military equipment Germany is (vs Israel) and how Germany is up to its neck trying to support Ukraine right now (as the US gets somewhat flaky - which they are far more unlikely to ever be as regards supplying Israel)?
Could they not ask Putin for a few weapons too while they are at it? They have not given or sold Ukraine so much as a cap-gun either I think, so he might be good for something in appreciation?

The Ukrainians have been fighting Palestinians in the mercenary groups such as Wagner on Ukraine soil. Palestinians love Russia and Putin and the military fighting experience he's giving them fighting for Russia in Ukraine.
