Israel's response to this will make what Putin's been at in Ukraine look like a tele -tubby party, how they got caught off-guard so badly is dumb-fonding

What can they do that they haven't done before. They got caught out badly this time with soldiers taken.
It's gas looking at the responses to this. Ukraine supporting Israel and saying has the right to defend itself.
Russia saying Israel should return to 1967 borders.
Either way it's not good news for Ukraine and especially if Hezbollah get involved. The US has already taken back a lot of munitions from there to give to Ukraine but that will be reversed fairly rapidly now.
What are they taking from there? If it's artillery shells, I'd assume they wouldn't be terribly effective in this scenario bar Israel needs them for killing civilians (which is a possibility)
Artillery shells. They're firing them into Lebanon already
Because hezbollah started firing rockets into Israeli occupied territory joining hamas' attack.
Is the consensus that the starting point for peace is for Israel to stop it's war of aggression, return to its own borders, stop interfering outside its borders and pay reparations for the vast amount of damage inflicted on the Palestinians?
There won't be peace there, they all hate each other.
Ukraine will need to pull a rabbit out a hat in their counter-offensive in the next 2 months our they're slightly f**ked, 8 billion in aid already signed off on to Isreal and the pot of money which already has been frozen by Republicans will only get smaller if Isreal launch a ground-offensive into gaza....
Will be interesting to see if Isreal go after Iran and their drone factories the videos of isreali tanks getting blown up really isn't great optics for them
sinn fein, fellow travellers with hamas, iran, wallace, daly, and ruzzia. Neutrality my eye.

Isn't it no different to how it has been said multiple times over Russia/Ukraine. We are militarily neutral but not politically neutral.
Terrorists supporting terrorists.
The Palestinians surely see themselves as fighting for their homeland, right to exist etc. Lines get blurry between terrorism and guerilla warfare but Israel could be deemed a terrorist state also.
hamas are a proxy for ruzzia and iran. Coups in Africa, unrest between serbia and Kosovo, uptick in strife in the Middle East. these are not random unrelated events. The patterns are quite clear to see, when you want to see them. This is geopolitics at work. A losing ruzzia attempting to take focus and pressure off it's invasion of Ukraine.
Th Palestinians are fighting for their very existence. They can't be fussy who they source their weapons from, just be happy that someone will help them stand up against a terrorist state.
I'll be much happier after Israel has dealt with hamas and turns it's attentions to iran and syria. As for terrorist states, I'm very happy with all the nations that continue to support Ukraine against the ultimate of terrorist states, ruzzia.
Seems some Palestinians disagree

Hamas couldn't have pulled yesterday off without the support of tens of thousands of people in Gaza. The build up for this would have been going on for months at least and Israel heard nothing in all that time.
How this atrocity was not acted on before the event is probably the biggest question out there right now.
Israel is probably better at being a terrorist state than Russia.
Any chance the UN will add Netanyahu to the same list as Putin or is he allowed to do as he wants in the eyes of the world.
Remember Grozney Putin had a "excuse" for that just like Netanyahu has a excuse for what they're about to inflict on gaza....
In fairness I reckon their is something in the conspiracy theory Netanyahu wanted hamas to make a break into Isreal to justify what he's at now but I don't think he planned on what took place and amount of isrealis that ended up killed
How could they break through one of the most advanced borders in the world in 8 different places. Guarded with tanks Apache helicopters and everything else the mighty IDF have. You'd have to wonder
I read that a significant proportion of what was supposed to be guarding that border was moved to the West Bank as there had bene incidents there. The border was largely defended by sensors and a fence, which was a bad idea. The drones took out the sensors and it's easy blow up a wall or fence.
On any other day if a child throws a stone at that fence they'll get shot in the legs if their lucky. It's almost impossible to believe it was left pretty much unmanned on this occasion
Well before this attack Netanyahu was using the palistines as a diversion, he now has all politicians behind him.
IF he facilitated or allowed the attack in any way he's some scut. But he wouldn't be the first country's leader to do it.

Egypt are saying they warmed Israel 3 days before that Hamas was planning something from Gaza.
This is the most interesting article I've come across, border was basically unguarded with a skeleton force of regular army and then volunteers etc
