Is it? and on whom?
Sure it was nothing to do with Bailey the Gard's got it all wrong😐
Bailey and his supporters are getting worried. The net is tightening.
I assume the Garda has to have his hat on too.
No drink. Said nothing re helping with enquiries.
If someone is arrested a third time they HAVE to be charged. It's the law. Not learnt much law in 30 years have you?
If he is the suspect he won't be made aware until they are ready to arrest charge.
If arrested again, they will 'HAVE' to charge him...??
My my..... Do they not need evidence for that?
And where do you suspect this evidence was conjured up from? (assuming there is some to support charging a man with murder)
Can an Irish citizen not be asked to help with enquiries...?
What a bizarre post...... Not learnt too much over the last 30yrs have you??
I'm going to hazzard a guess here, and suggest you have drink taken, and maybe not firing on all cylinders?
They will not warn him or put him on his guard by talking to him. If it's him they will put their case together and then strike. If he is arrested again they have to charge him.
He looks pretty shook in one hospital photo
Agree.
An out-of-work hack regurgitating an old article with a few new generic quotes from the review team.
"Netflix. The smash hit programme re-awakened a number of people’s memories in west Cork of the shocking killing."
After 26 years? I wonder what they remembered?
"A senior Garda source said: “People have been convicted in Ireland for murder with less circumstantial evidence than we have in this case.”
So no evidence then? The DPP will love this.
I wonder, is Sophie's murderer mentioned in this article? After all they believe it's a local;
https://archive.ph/7MbSu
Or are they conspicuous by their absence?
Realistically, there is better paper flushed down the toilet than used to print on by the Sun newspaper...
The circumstantial evidence didn't stand up 30yrs ago, why would it now?
Somebody new came forward today that kept quiet at the height of the investigation??
If Bailey was still on the radar, they would have already paid him a visit... They haven't.
Didn't some of the investigators head of to France recently looking for some french bloke? Doesn't sound like they were too interested in Bailey at that point?
If there's a legitimate reason for DNA to be found somewhere then there may be a perfectly innocent reason for it being there and it is not much use as evidence of any wrongdoing
If there isn't any legitimate reason for DNA to be found somewhere then it may identify a suspect and provide evidence against them.
How do you know there was no legitimate cause for Dna to be there? They may have a more sensitive dna test. It could have been there but not picked up
Unless they have matched some previously unmatched DNA which there is no legitimate cause to have been there, I can't see it being solved.
It wouldn't be the first time there's been a newspaper article promising a breakthrough only for it to turn out to have no substance to the story.
Also said lots of circumstantial evidence. Who else would they have lots of circumstantial evidence against.?
An article in the Sun. Id take with a large pinch of salt
That would make sense. It could be that someone who was covering for him or someone else has come forward with the truth. It would be pointless interviewing Bailey, put the evidence to him when he's arrested.
I reckon it's Bailey. He has not been contacted. I'd say his contact will be an arrest.

No, although there is certainly a couple of those in every village.
I meant, someone in a blue uniform.
But you know, there is ALWAYS that particular rumour, with every unsolved crime. It's a very cheap score.
Someone else with a conviction for assault?
Thanks for sharing.
Elvis? Thats ******* blasphemy.
LOL...but persistent local rumour suggests that he resides much closer to home than that. On many a village high street.
May I be forgiven for quoting a rumour!
But surely something to eliminate, at least.
Pleeeeease....!!!
Don't go down the rabbit hole that is 'Maria Farrell' !
If you interviewed the good Maria, and put a little pressure on her, maybe wave another carrot in front of her, drop a few more Family criminal charges... I'm sure she'd place Elvis by the bridge that night washing his hands...
She might even get the invisible man to sign an affidavit confirming the same... (Obviously he couldn't be interviewed in person as he resides on Planet Fantasy many light years away...)
I hope the "cold case reviewers" take another long, cold unbiassed look at the strange evidence of the lady shopkeeper who first phoned into Crimecall, and later identified herself, as seeing someone washing their hands in a stream down on the main road that night.
Her passenger (who might have corroborated this story) has never been publicly identified.
A curious sequence of events indeed.
I also attended that trial. I believe he murdered Sophie.
You'd wonder what evidence relating to other suspects was ignored or destroyed in their pursuit of Bailey.
I firmly believe and always have done since attending his libel trial against the newspapers many years ago that he didn't murder that lady.
He is though a narcissisic women beater and I have no sympathy whatsoever for him whatever befalls him.
That the man seems to be an attention seeking dick doesn't make him a murderer.
However, to answer the question about AGS and Bailey's scratches, I believe AGS had decided already that, for whatever reason, Bailey did it and then used whatever they could find as potential evidence against him.
He's appearently after getting a third heart attack now and there must have been a reporter in the hospital for some reason because Ian is in the newspapers again.
You can nearly smell the hat from the photo at this stage, you'd have to feel sorry for anyone that has to be anywhere near him.
He intends to send his (imaginary) 13,000 euro bill from Bantry Hospital to Sophie's family after they had jokingly said they would pay his bill to keep him alive so they can get justice. Classy as ever.
