I'd prefer to see reviews of the pixel 8 pro before dropping over 1k, and no discounts on 7s with heating issues etc, does not make sense now.
Do people expect Google to offer the bundle until 16th, after embargo? (They mention in TCs, while stocks last)
If I order now, can I cancel before delivery?
Is the 14 day return to Google complicated? I guess I'd need to use insured tracked post for it?
Would you go with any other options, Sony (really like their eye tracking)?

Yes the offer will still be available but the particular handset and/or gift that you're after may not be readily available. Came to the party late-ish myself for the Pixel 6 launch and the Pro model was usually not available in the store at that point. Some people were able to snag one by constantly refreshing and retrying (possibly picking up cancelled orders etc.) but you may not have the time/patience/inclination for that. I ended up with the standard Pixel 6, which I've been fairly happy with tbh, but part of me always regretted not getting the Pro (with optical zoom on the camera setup).
Considering the pro or a s23 plus coming from the pixel 6. Not going to decide till reviews are out. Some of the things I don't like about the 6 is the slow charging and battery life, its also really bad at hotspotting but i belive that was improved on the 7. I see the 8 is only a bit faster at charging so will need to be right up there in battery life for me to go for it.
Tempted to make the jump from the Pixel 6 to the 8 Pro myself. A lot of it is for the optical zoom. I would have probably bought the 6 Pro at the time but I really don't like curved screens. I do like the 6 a lot, better finger print scanner, battery and faster charging would be nice though. Selling the Pixel watch and 6 will make it as cheap upgrade now as it ever will be.
Yeah optical zoom is a big draw and I would like better video for my next one. Don't have any complaints about the pictures from the normal 6 and don't imagine this will be much better in that department outside of zoom.
I have seen video from a YouTuber on the 8 Pro and it doesn't look great compared to s23 and iPhone. In saying that there is the video boost thing that is supposed to be great but it's not available now so won't be included in reviews.
I'd imagine there will be good deals on the s23 plus and it does have zoom just not as good so I may end up going for that with the faster charging and probably better battery life. We don't really know yet about the battery life of pixel but it's unlikely to be as good.
Smart thing to do for me would be to hold onto the 6 for a while longer and get onto a cheap gomo monthly but I'm not smart.
What's the verdict on 3 locking their phones? Not a three customer but worth a punt if you get the Pixel 8 and the Buds Pro for €709. €799 is a stretch so far I think.

True but its hard to "upgrade" to a phone with a smaller battery.

If it's important for you to buy a phone with more mAh, regardless of size, actual battery life, camera quality, new features, efficiency etc then I guess that's your prerogative.
The battery is less than 1% smaller, it's not worth mentioning.

But you don't know what the battery life is like. You only know how many mAh the battery is.
If battery life was important to you, you wouldn't even be looking at a Pixel in the first place. They generally charge slowly, and have only moderate battery life. There's much better options out there.

Popped into Vodafone blanch see if they would let me pre order. Rep says they already have 3 of each in the back in the store, reckoned they would get pricing on Monday.
