Primary season is here and the road to Tuesday, November 5th, 2024 begins tonight with the first Republican primary debate in Milwaukee.
Donald Trump has decided not to partake so the participants in the debate will be;
As things stand, the Democrats do not plan on having any primary debates as Joe Biden is running for re-election.
So trump is demanding that all of the primary debates be cancelled and if the GOP don't they are helping Biden steal another election
“Anything less, along with other reasons not to cancel, are an admission to the grassroots that their concerns about voter integrity are not taken seriously and national Republicans are more concerned about helping Joe Biden than ensuring a safe and secure election,”
So who is mentally incompetent again?
McCarthy voted out 8 Republicans join the Democrats to vote him out 210 to 216.
The best candidates. Red wave November
Viso had a dispute with the day care center, which was next to his business, and he told the Globe that day care employees “harassed my men every day. They had cars ticketed every time my men parked on a side street.”
At some point, he said, he decided to get even by smearing poop on the handles and locks of the child care facility.
After the investigating officer told Viso there was video evidence of his poop-smearing, he apologized and said, “I’m not proud of what I did.”
He told the Globe that he later cleaned up the dookie-stained doors.
“It was done before anyone got hurt,” he said. “I’m not going to defend it.”
Although Viso admitted it was wrong, he offered a bizarre excuse with echoes of Republicans this week blaming the Democratic Party for the ouster of House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.).
“I was a young man. It was a horrible time, and I made a mistake,” Viso, 52, said. “Obama came into office the year before.”
That would make Viso about 39 at the time, an age when most people have learned not to smear poop.
Showing more complete disintegration of the GOP, a public (and monetized) debate for Speaker of the House. Truly unprecedented incompetence. Send in the clowns
Has since been cancelled, someone realised it was a terrible idea and they called it off.
omfg of course they did. They didn’t realize this any of them before it became decided and announced tho. Though. Honk honk wakka wakka 🤡
RFK announces he is running as an independent
His siblings all come out against him.
Apparently Trump's team are going after him, after research showed he was impacting on his numbers...
Definitely a good thing for Democrats.
Well when it starts like this then yes, definitely good for the Dems 🤣
It’s upside down!
"R.u.F.Kidding me, Jr?"
Reporting that Scalise has won't he GOP nomination for speaker.
Aaaaand it's gone
It's gonna be fun watching this shìtshow unfold, as long as Jordan doesn't get it I'll be happy, will we see a few reps bite the bullet and vot for Jeffries?
I think he just needs 5 or 6.
Maybe a republican in a purple district might fancy voting for him.
Lol.
Hannity has now had it with Vivek and has a true moment of absence of self awareness....
This grabbed headlines
Truly MAGA is eating itself if Sean Hannity is now Fake News. Kinda done with Ramaswamy's nonsense; all the bullshít of Trump without that ... I dunno bullish vulgarity that's hard to ignore. Say what you will the guy does have a crude magnetism. Ramaswamy just feels like a Hollywood cliché; some àsshole yuppy who'd be the first victim of the killer in Act One.
'they will lose the house and deserve it' if Jordan is Speaker
a new challenger shows up: Austin Scott.
This is a dark horse candidate. I mean, he's a 7 term Congressman and he shows up in MediaITE's archives... 2 times, before this speakership chaos. Where he endorsed Herschel Walker for Senator (yellow flag there)
The other, was a 2012 article where he was credited (even then, as "obscure") with introducing The Preserving Freedom from Unwarranted Surveillance Act of 2012 in the House. The bill didn't become law.
Even Washington Post, as far as I can tell, basically never reported on the guy.
He's either a very serious head-down lawmaker who might stand a decent chance of confirmation as Speaker without any baggage or drama, or, he has dead bodies in his closet nobody dare know about. He is an orthopedic surgeon with a BBA in Risk Management & Insurance - so either way, that tracks.
First impression: objectively speaking, I like him, so there must be a catch or he never gets the votes. He had to have never made a name for himself by voting against the MAGA years though, so he's also no Kinzinger or Liz Cheney.
It was obvious here. All the talking heads publicly promoting him to their audiences had Trumpy audiences. You could see the downstream effect of that here - the only people with positive things to say about him were same people who rely on those same talking heads for their opinions. I'm not sure what was expected. I mean, if a candidate was being promoted on FOX and denigrated on MSNBC, I'd expect more of the FOX audience to vote for him than the MSNBC one.
Vivek's a complete light-weight but at least one poster was impressed with him which is quite mind-boggling. Pretty sure the same poster was also impressed with RFK so maybe it's not so mind-boggling after all.
Still sounds pretty shaky.
The same poster FTR, was also impressed by Ron DeSantis.
Clearly between the Primary and the Speakership chaos, it seems like the GOP have been in steady downward trajectory since at least the 2018 midterms. The lack of cohesion doesn't bode well for them in 2024, with Biden posting blockbuster fundraising numbers too against the entire right side of the race. If things continue as they are there's going to be a lot of flipped seats to blue.
I don't seek out footage from Trump's speeches or his posts of Truth but they are often shown on clips I see from CNN or MSNBC. Is it just me or does he seem more unhinged than usual in the last few months. I mean he has always been bonkers but it seems to be dialed up to 11 recently.
that'll be multiple indictments, court cases, both personal and business, dwindling rally numbers and Fox/Murdoch turning on him.
Ah well... karma's a bitch apparently.
Fox and Friends seem frustrated and friends
does not sound like Jordan will have the votes in 90 minutes for the scheduled vote
I saw a suggestion saying that the Democrats would get behind a moderate Republican but...
Why would the Democrats want to stop this clown car?
So the House can carry on its business? Eventually it is going to have an impact.
The longer this runs the more the risk is people say "a plague on both your houses" i.e. blame all politicians. The electorate can be fickle... or maybe they'll say this is great, no new nonsense to deal with.
