This setup will be used for Gran Turismo 7 on Christmas Day to start with.
Also like the look of this stand to complete it.
He already has a good racing style gaming chair.
Shifter is really only worthwhile if you're into drifting or rallying but not for conventional racing.
As for the wheel stand, I'd move to a stand/chair in one because unless they connect together you can get lots of trouble when you press the brake with vigour or turn voraciously

Space is a bit limited as he uses the same area for VR so need something that folds away.
Have a look at the playseat challenge. I'm in the same situation with a lack of space and it seems to tick all the boxes for me.
And as above, I wouldn't bother with the shifter.
Playseat challenge and evolution look excellent if we had a bit more space and didn't already own a racing gaming chair. Due to this and comments about stability from @duploelabs I think Ive settled on this:
Its the only stand Ive seen where you can set 2 wheels of your own chair into the stand to keep it steady. Unless Im missing something I think this should do the job for us. Folds away nicely also.

Heavy sounds good to me. It will be resting flush against ikea wall storage at the front under a TV so cant see it moving forward or side to side.
The only way it could possibly move is backward but thinking that's unlikely.

Has to be some kind of sales tax in the US of A. The addon blu-ray drive is listed as $80(75 euro) and 120 euro here.
The prices in the US exclude sales tax as it differs from state to state. Iinm New York is over 10% while it is 0% in Oregon.
Still even adjusted for Irish VAT $80 should be €100.
