At the request from a number of posters have posted the latest links for the perceived best tariffs currently available.

Latest MOD update for the below information is 6 October 2023.

Both the BWG and CP links below have been axed by Flogas.

A tip if using Bonkers...Unselect "Only show tariffs available for sign up?". There are better deals than Yuno for the average user.

someone mentioned that if you add a spouse to the bill to avail of the added tax free allowance it counts as a new contract and you get the 20% , anyone know if thats true ,I have to renew next month

Energia retention team will call all new customers switching to them but then cancelling the switch within 14 days cooling off period. So switch to Energia (online is the easiest way for many), then call them after few days and cancel the switch.

You either get 20% discount, or you are stuck with your existing provider for one more month. (There's one month porting freeze after initiating and canceling the switch).

There are some plans where they offer 15% off the standard rate.

But will offer 20% to retain the customer using the protocol described previously.

Billy Mays, I did the same and they have no record of it! Complaint now gone in for the back office to check it up. Odd that their rep had no record of it for you either. Might be worth double checking.

interesting. It's bullsh!t that he won't increase the limit though. He mentioned most people having < 6kW installations. If he's going to use the size of the installation as an excuse then the the limit should be set in kWh, not in €, so it takes account of the cost of electricity. But that's probably a discussion for the renewable energy board.

I'm currently with Bord Gais for Electricity which is due for renewal on Thursday, and with Electric Ireland for gas which is due for renewal on November 1st.

I've been following this thread as much as possible but it the whole energy pricing regime in Ireland seems incredibly complex. Bord Gais are offering me a 15% discount for renewing electricity (40.96c kWh including discount) , and will also give me a 15% discount on Gas for signing up too.

From looking at Bonkers, Yuno seem to to be the best for Electricity at (38.04c kWh)

Again from Bonkers, Flogas seem to be the best for Dual Fuel, with Electricity (Day: 35.65c, Night: 27.8c, Peak: 42.17c) and Gas 10.85c

Should I just go with one of these, or is there anything else currently worth looking at? Not sure if relevant to the above but I have 3Kw Solar Panel system installed. Thanks in advance!

That's pretty much it. No special deals at the moment. From various reports here, there might be a chance of getting a slightly better deal than advertised from either Energia (20% instead of 15%) or Bord Gais (20% for dual fuel, again instead of 15%), but that's not guaranteed, that would depend on getting the retention team involved, or speaking to the right person if you ring them.
