When danger reared its ugly head, he bravely turned his tail and fled.
I heard that the other day,the weather will eventually stop both sides pushing forward, Russia is supposedly re-enforcing their lines ,and still no major break through yet and the various claims of the total collapse of Russian lines never materialised despite claims it was actually happening, come the next few weeks it's going to be a primary artillery duel until late spring early summer
Would seem a likely outcome. Both sides dig in and lob shells. Imagine the Russians will try to attack the energy infrastructure en masse again. Likely with reduced effectiveness owing to aerial defence acquisitions and greater experience on the Ukrainian side.
The Ukrainians have the benefit of longer strike weapons this winter compared to last. Wouldn't fancy being in a detachment in Crimea.
Timidity is a recipe for failure. The west needs to get real with Russian criminality.
That's even worse ,
Very sad and situation but it's getting more and more common especially in the UK teens killing other teens for the slightest of things most people wouldn't even notice
This was once the village of Andrijivka, south of Bakhmut.
This isn't great if true ...
Ukraine looking for permission to strike drone production sites in Russia, Syria and Iran one way to bring more dangerous players into this war , which could bring undesirable consequences.
That seems unlikely.
Ukraine are advancing with small groups of infantry not heavy armour, and even though there are no serious rasputitsa conditions in southern Ukraine during autumn, even if there were, that won't stop them continuing as they are.
Cold shouldn't affect well supplied Ukrainian troops, but will put a toll on badly supplied Russian ones, therefore it seems Ukraine's best option would be to press on. In fact I think they would be fools not to, and they are certainly not fools.
There were various "accidents" at Iranian drone production facilities in the past. One of the reasons for less criticism from the Ukrainians towards the Israelis.
The Russian based production sites are likely to be a target.
Seems like a option which could escalate very quickly.
Lunar landscape,
The sheer number of holes showing where shells hit is crazy and this is replicated across the front
Yeah well it is what it is.
They are all legitimate targets in the Ukrainians minds.
It's highly likely and it's exactly what happens in war for centuries, winter brings combat to a very slow crawl or stops all together, digging and fortification makes sense until the weather improves, artillery duels means you lose less men and equipment in the meantime
And what happens when Russia then views drone making facilities in Europe or wider afield as legitimate targets, because that's the road we would be going down.
Ukraine should be told to wind their neck in.
Russia won't target any where in the EU .
NATO article 5 guarantees Russia will not target countries outside of Ukraine, the odd accidental drone landing in a field over some line won't garner any reaction,
Targeting a facility or facilities in NATO countries will garner a huge reaction
Let them.
The West is so timid now, so self effacing, full of pompous narcissistic self loathing.
So we all need to live in fear of Putin and Russia?
No thanks.
LOL
Just offhand,
The Winter War: Finland
The Battle of the Bulge
Opperation Uranus (stalingrad)
The Soviet winter offensive Jan 1945
Modern warefare doesn't have to stop, just ask anyone who was around Bakhmut last winter.
The plot thickens
Looks the very same around Syrian Cities, towns and villages.....same in Grozny, In fact same in every location Putin has introduced his peace "initiatives".
It's been claimed it was a storage facility for electric cars and was struck by lightning,
Not so sure this about where drones came into it , anywhere there's a fire nowadays is being linked to the war
Remind us what happens to the attacker in the cases of the Finnish winter war and the battle of the bulge,
Not great examples at all
Along with hundreds of schools, medical Centres and hospitals,
Still remember Lavrov interviews about attacking civilian hospitals and replied with if it looks like one , walks like one and then they are a terrorist,
The EU and NATO are two different things. It's odd how the lines between the two have been blurred. NATO is a military alliance. The EU is a separate Economic Pact. As for Article 5, it doesn't really guarantee anything.
..
Speak for yourself,
I don't live in fear of Putin and Russia. I don't live in fear of terrorists or WMDs.
What causes you to be paralysed by fear?
At the time I met him, he was guarding the camp. But the question is from what and who? Maybe in the preceding weeks he was the attacker himself ? Africa can be and in many instances actually is a very violent Continent. The fact is that while he was only a kid by western standards, he was an adult by tribal standards. So the circumstances change everything. And even in so-called modern society, in many Country's 18 is considered minimum age for recruitment. And there's a reason for this. At 18, men ( especially) are approaching their prime physical development stage, while psychologically, they are still very malleable, ideal military candidates.
Daily FUD.
Ukraine should do whatever furthers their goals. If it means Iranian drone facilities go boom, so be it. Lay down with dogs, get up with fleas.
Next they will be pulling Lenin out of the mausoleum and propping him up in a chair for a zoom call with shoigiu
Bar the United States and turkey the majority of NATO members are in the EU which will eventually include Sweden ,
See no difference,
