Does this look bad this far out?
Tree down on the Kilininney road Firhouse just opposite the Gaeil scoil/educate together. Firhouse D24
Wind really getting going now in west Dublin
Noticed that while tracking the squall line. They seem to be elongating too in the last 3-4 frames
Few nasty sausages posting on this thread😄
It's brightened up here in Rush over the last half an hour or so.. so much so that my solar panels are producing enough to run the house and charge the battery... Visibility has somewhat improved in that I can just about see Lambay Island again. It remains quite blustery but it doesn't seem as intense as it was about an hour or so ago.. gusts are still frequent enough, but again not as intense as there were 1-2 hours ago.
Few nasty looking 'sausages' heading up southeast up east coast. These are where the big gusts will be for the east
Obvious to those with a keen interest in weather. Those that don't depend on the millions of €s of taxpayer-funded tech Met Eireann has available to them to give them adequate warning. The I'm alright Jack mentality won't help those that are being severely impacted already, nor those who are in the firing line.
Thanks, surprised at the rain total because seems to have been a serious amount of rain in Rathdrum. Also not as gusty as forecast then for Arklow so far, Met Eireann have Arklow down for 100k+ between 3 and 5 so more to come all the same.
Any updates from North County Dublin?
Update from Cork City Council:
Storm Agnes has moved faster than anticipated across the region, therefore the predicted tidal surge no longer coincides with high tide in Cork City, reducing the anticipated risk of localised flooding in low-lying quay areas of the city. The road closures and lane restrictions announced yesterday are no longer required and Cork City Council is not predicting any tidal flooding at 5pm this evening.
That's waffle, you should know how many mm of strong rain fell before you can say it's borderline red .
80kmh just now
yeah, well meant but a terrible idea. secondary kids certainly better off waiting til 4pm in Cork
Power gone all around us in south carlow but still have it here. A good 2000 or so affected and we are well away from peak action.
I’ll be glad when smallboy one gets in from the bus.
In Carrick on Shannon and its like monsoon. No warning here. Is that coz there's always Floods here.
..
The centre of the storm seems to be near SW coast now.
Max gust here so far touching 70kmh
Not too bad
Rain total so far just 10.4mm
Good few gusts last 20 mins in the 60's
Noticeable but not remarkable
We'll see what now to 5pm brings
Ou principle just sent a message to say we can collect the kids earlier…..could she not have sent it when it wasn’t as bad an hour is so ago!! Definitely the strongest winds here yet today currently
North Cork and it's fairly windy😌😁 the rain earlier was bad apparently. Slept through it. Working last night and again tonight so missed the worse bits.
Currently entertaining our spaniel out the back with her ball. She's gotta play no matter the weather😌😁
Pretty violent now in Cork, coinciding with schools out!! We said it last night this was the risk!!
have a look at a post made at 1.12 in the Aviation forum, didn’t think it is that stormy to cause such chaos?
Fair enough, definitely felt more than that considering places started getting flooded and from where I am down in Little Island.
Nothing more than the yellow that was forecast in Clare (inland)
I did let almost the spuds burn when I got distracted chasing a letter from the dentist that got blown out our kitchen window, but I think it would be a bit much to go red just for that.
Roche’s point 18.9mm
Inishcarra 25.9mm
That’s up to midday/12.30
strongest winds so far in cork city area...
Brutal out now with severe gusts and squally showers,a lot of the children in the local school are been collected early in case it gets worse
Miserable grey, wet and windy day so far in South Kildare but nothing too dramatic.
Cork looks scary!
My watering can got knocked over. Bit windy alright but nothing very dramatic. East Cork
Very bad now again
