Does this look bad this far out?
Is Met Eireann website working?
barely....
Slow to respond, high traffic this morning.
Bucketing down in Cork City
Its under pressure...
I'm near Riverstick, Co Cork at ~ 93m ASL - the S/SE wind has increased since 08:35h dramatically here.
Very heavy rain in Cork City - heading to work now commute should be fun 😀
Heavy rain in Tralee very dull, getting windy.
Fantastic view of Agnes on Sat24
On the matured side now I’d say with a filling low
Anyone with wind gusts for 8am from Met Eireann won't load for me. Drank a whole cup of coffee n nothing.
Absolutely bucketing down in cork City now
Took today off ages ago not knowing there'd be a storm. Now there is its the best day off ever
Look out for heavy thunderstorms in the West at 4pm. They may surprise you.
Yeah, did school run. Sheets of rain, roads with mini rivers on them.
It's funny how the warnings end at county boundaries. Wicklow is orange, but Dublin is yellow. 😁
Cork Airport Data from MetE Site
They do that with aviation forecasts and it doesn't help. Knowing there's a 40% chance (typical value) of a gust doesn't clear things up.
Well the start of this week I was told I’d be off Wednesday and I knew it was going to be messy but not having to commute through cork city an Same I was told that I’d be off today on Monday and really hadn’t looked in here to the the views if the posters in the know, but not having to use the buses in cork city this morning and this afternoon is a blessing.
the rain has gotten heavier here in cork city within the last half hour. Rotten day.
Drastic change in weather in cork City my god, very strong gusta now and and bucketing down. Flight landing from Tarbes atm, wouldn't like to be on that!
It's very heavy now here in Cork. Roads going to be flooded here I'd say.
Good morning everyone. It's gone beyond "bucketing down" here in Ballincollig and has moved into biblical territory. My south facing windows are a solid sheet of water. Winds definitely picking up here as well, some pretty decent gusts, although my weather station can't pick them up due to its location.
I do have a handheld anemometer but I am NOT going outside at the moment.
Link to my station below:
I thought the coffee would give it a boost. All eyes on that website this morning is the problem. So the relatively warm waters are leading to more rain but perhaps a system that fills quickly once it hits land.
OMG, the rain in Cork 😯
Okay that’s a big gust in cork city.
Biblical rain in Mid Cork at moment, if this intensity continues for long, rivers will be flooding within a few hours. Wind gusty but nothing major yet.
Supposed to be bringing my dad for an appt in the city later this afternoon - that's if the city centre isn't under water by then 😁
Cork safety alerts are saying there’s reports of flooding and trees down already.
That might be a bit tricky for sure.... head winds are 'almost' lining up with runway I wonder?
EDIT: They are heading for DUB.. RYR22FU from STN is next.... best of luck lads.
At the rate it's coming down (and we've barely even hit when the weather warning was valid for), this should be a red warning for rain in Cork. There's 6 hours of a warning ahead and it's already starting to flood.
Oh ffs, calm down
are they heading off to dublin now?
