Does this look bad this far out?
Yeah he had a different name recently but I can't remember it.
It wasn't that I don't think but can't recall what it was. Always good to lower expectation levels for snow anyway.
I've to work outside in this tomorrow in North Kildare. I know very little about the charts but they look concerning to me. But with only a Yellow warning I suppose it should be fine. It's just a niggling worry though, with so much leaves on the trees and it being a daytime event.
2012 I started as Nagdefy. I don't know re. Su Campu.
Snowbie was active on Ireland's Weather Network. Myself and Danno too, 2009 ish.
Was it Gaoth Laidear or something?
Met Office predicting gusts over 100kph for Kinsale around lunchtime.
sustained winds of 60 to 65kph.
We're currently down in West Cork for a few days off, not far north of Schull / south of Bantry.
We're supposed to be checking out at 11am and driving on to Dungarvan for another night.
Thinking maybe we're best asking if we can hang around for a few hours to let the storm pass, or maybe head on to Bantry and find somewhere to batten down the hatches before heading any further.
Have never been down this far south before but I understand weather warnings here aren't to be taken lightly?
I would suggest you need to move in from schull area before the winds hit so that would be very early morning. Not sure where you could hunker down in bantry either hotel would possibly be your best bet. Bantry could also flood so head for the west lodge. You could also stay where you are but don’t plan on leaving anytime soon in the day if you do stay. Would you cancel your stay in dungarvan and add a night where you are at least you had a bed etc there. The road in from schull wouldn’t be a drive I’d do in those winds.
Be careful El fenomrno if you park by the quays in bantry as it’s prone to flooding!
Gaoth Laidir I think, Kildare man?
Yourself Pad and Nacho were on here years and also Ireland's Weather Network. We were all around for 2010, both ends of the year and watching temps go below -10C before midnight!
Deepening rapidly now, exiting the North side of the jet, ECM chart below showing how heavy the rain will be earlier in the day, very rough conditions along the South, available charts ( bit crude 3 hrly) do not show the very high wind speeds as the Hi Res AROME but does show up to 100/kmh well inland in the SW, S, SE parts of the E and 110km/h along the coasts, widespread 80 km/h and Munster /Leinster widespread 90km/h. Showing it to deepen that bit further out on this run I think. Might show higher on the 18Z ( comes out at 01.00 ).
Feic. Nice to have a good storm from time to time. Just had a feeling Agnes might deliver
Nobody is wishing for that, my comments would indicate the opposite and I’m not responding any further re what I said as don’t want to derail thread.
Thanks for the heads up. We're half debating just driving back to family in Kilkenny tonight. Only concern on that is the roads around here are scary enough in the daylight, let alone night time! Not the type of roads I'm used to.
Latest models have been released and too me the east will be in an orange warning , can absolutely see flights, ferries ,busses and even trains being cancelled at least temporally for busses and trains
Looks like Connaught is going to get a fair whack of rain yet there's absolutely no weather warning on met.ie?
If that’s your thinking go now! Honestly the wilds of west cork are windy enough on a normal windy day especially when you aren’t used to it.
It would be a warning up there if ye didn't get rain!
Yeah that was it. Thanks
You're Cork isn't it, are you the Mallow area?
Well, we just got a phonecall and the lads that are going to be putting decking down outside our door are apparently coming tomorrow to get started.
Good luck to them.
Edit: Location: South coast near Cork.
Flying decking!
It will make a change from the usual flying trampolines I suppose 🤔
Once you get to cork you can either do the n25 or the motorway up to urlingford and then over to kilkenny. 3 1/2 to 4 hours, remember if you head back tonight you don't have to get up early tomorrow and hit traffic

MODS: Apologies if link dumping like this is not adding value to the thread, just gathering what I see online for others to view...
(I find it amazing that they detect that little tail feature in the cloud pattern, and know what it is!)
...
Was looking like that for the south east alright.
Your just not in luck @el Fenomeno .. New Orange added inc KILKENNY, Stay put id say, enjoy the ride in the wild .. a unique experience :D
Yeah a few miles outside. Should be breezy tomorrow.
