I know yeah. Think they had Baashunter and Bewitched in Cork last summer. Wouldn't be my thing at all, more flagging that's 1 gig in St Anne's Park used up and a Saturday slot too.

They're not my cup of tea at all, but it will sell out. They have the 6th most listened to Podcast in Ireland, ands are using 2 'legend' acts to back them up. They sold out Musgrave Park last summer when other acts didn't.
And their fans could easily say that The National or whatever other alt band booked for a Saturday night June gig is a waste too, as it is not their taste.
I remember when I used to complain about cringe acts taking up the 'nice' slots but the truth is promoters don't care about getting the cool bands in. They care about tickets being sold. If the cool bands sold more tickets, they would get the better gigs.
Oh I've accepted that long ago yeah but it doesn't bode well for 2024 if this in the first few gigs announced.

Oh completely. And yes indeed, each to their own. Every now and again though, a lineup comes out that makes your eyes water. This one is like a pub game, put together the worst bill you can possibly think of. No disrespect intended.

Welsh comedian Rhod Gilbert is hitting the road with his brand new tour 'Rhod Gilbert & the Giant Grapefruit' and has just announced two shows in Cork Opera House.
The mammoth tour kicks off in January 2024 and will travel all across the UK and Ireland before touching down in Cork for performances on October 17 and 18, 2025.
There's a few on Ireland, definitely included the Olympia too
Might bite if there's great seats available, otherwise I'll wait until much nearer the time. Two years out is crazy, though I can see why he's announced them all in one go
Gonna need to start a 2025 thread at this rate.. Think it's mad that they can sell this far out without any guarantee that people will have the option to either resell on TM site or transfer tickets. They're happy to take people's money up front so far out and could be rescheduled or cancelled lot closer to time.
Ticketmaster are seriously abusing their monopoly in this country and in others.
Transfer should be on by default, it should be made clear up front if transfer wont be enabled or if it will be delayed, to allow consumers to make a better decision on whether to buy.
I notice they seem to have removed the add to Google Wallet and Apple Wallet function from the website and the Apple Wallet function is gone from the app too.
They really are a devious bunch.

back when it was physical they only guaranteed getting ticket week of, same mentality now with digital tickets.
have a few nervous times years ago with tickets only being shipped the week of.
some acts don’t want ticket transfers on till very close to the show.
ticket transfer has been enabled for every show in ireland (open to correction).Even ones labelled as ticket holder only such as Ed sheeran and hozier in academy have allowed transfer.
It seems that it’s only the high demand shows that tickets are automatically in your account.
Pretty sure the google/apple wallet removal is cause of the new digital changing ticket they now use.

Dublin inquirer covered it last year. Concerned citizens complained that they were losing their dog walking routes etc and want the concerts etc gone.
a nimby action group was set up when it was when announced that national science museum which was destined for earlsfort terrace would have an exit into iveagh garden and mean that favourited dog walking route would be amended and mean more foot traffic into the park.
