Not a good look. I wonder did he go because this was going to come to light?

Switched off, switched back again and he's still there. And I thought we were done with the moaners.
Government funded organisation Revenue will be instructed not to investigate government funded organisation RTE.
This self employed nonsense has been going on for years. It'll be swept under the carpet.
But Revenue has already been in contact with RTE, and RTE is responsible for address the issue in its accounts going forward to satisfy its auditors.
We we see any RTE names in the Revenue name and shame lists in the future?
no that’s only for the little people
I need to know, sorry, - is someone suggesting that the Holohan book launched by Tubs is on the LLS? PLease tell me this is not true.
Yes, Holohan appeared on The LLS earlier this evening plugging his book.
And I see that vogue Williams and Baz asswipe have been on.
I'm so bloody glad I can't and won't watch this tripe.
It's irrelevant anyway. If Revenue slaps a €100m tax bill on RTE, the government is going to pay it and just end up moving money bank account to another.
I wouldn't be surprised if Revenue decides RTE did nothing wrong...under influence from Government.
That true for the taxes. I am sure Revenue have long 'held back' from going after RTE's self employments. Revenue have been going after private sector companies for decades. We had a runin with them about 20 years ago, for a retired person who did some work for us. Got whacked with a bill for about 40k (punts?) for 2 or 3 years of 'employing' them.
The real cost (to the state/tax payer) is if their pensions need to back funded. RTE have 3 basic schemes, depending when the employee started. Defined benefit, 50:50 and defined contribution.
In the red corner you have Fiona Sheahan single handily waging a war on behalf of Tubridy. In the blue corner the all singing from the same hymn sheet RTE / FFG are getting their stories right. Leo says there maybe contractual and legal obligations to why RTE can’t release documents. The banana republic strikes again. FFG defend their mouth organ with the public purse. After all RTE is simply an extension of the FFG ideology.
But think of poor Fionann Sheehan his one man crusade to score points of RTE will be futile. But hey if he ever writes a book He w a count on Ryan to turn up at the opening.
Unfortunately our elected class need RTE and often use it as a propaganda tool for their agendas, you can be absolutely guaranteed RTE have more than one skeleton down the back of the couch if the government don't bail them out.
Don't believe for a second anything will change within rte.
The last media committee was a disgrace. Complete change in tone with Backhurst being lauded as the saviour.
Each member basically took it in turn to talk their way around saying that the new team are in place, the bad guys are gone so continue as you were.
The first words out of baz on the lls yesterday deserved a slap
What did he say?
Didn't watch the show, and didn't hear his comments.
But remember he is an NKM client, so I would not be surprised if it was in defence of Tubs and NKM?.
faux sad face and commented something about "14 years" alluding to rte and Tubridy
Bakhurst understands this but the ex-executives are guided by legal advisers whose instinct is to withhold any evidence which might be unhelpful to their clients.
But the PAC is not a court of law, and it has been severely slapped down when it tried to adjudicate on legal issues. The PAC is creature of the Oireachtas i.e. the legislature. It is not bound by judge-made rules of evidence or the presumption of innocence. It can make any assumption it wishes about the exit packages, based on any evidence it gathers or just on gut instinct. And the Oireachtas can legislate accordingly. Not retrospectively I.e. confiscating payments already made or in the exit contracts. But the PAC could, say, recommend the abolition of RTÉ and its licence fee.
Another powerful group which will make its own judgement whether or not these documents are released - the staff in RTÉ, especially those who were refused the package that the top execs awarded themselves.
What's offensive about that? (Didn't catch the show last night, still have no idea why Baz deserved a slap)
To me it came across as an nk guy pissing on pk's parade
(I didn't mention anything about offensiveness)
Licence fee non payers still going down
TV licence revenue still down after RTÉ pay scandal (msn.com)
They would be correct if the people let them get away with this.
And its looking that way
I wonder how much RTE paid for their Rugby World Cup intro. It's a bit more work that a couple of set photos on Fair City anyway.
I don't know how NK gets gigs for Baz. Then again whoever is Vogue's agent is doing a good job too.
Vogues agent is next level
It’s not insignificant that Tony got Ryan to launch his book. It shows how much he respects what Ryan did for the national effort during Covid, something that has been kind of forgotten.
That maybe so, but we have yet to hear any details about the consultancy fees RTE paid NK for Covid advice. It appears to be an issue the PAC are keeping away from. It may have been state money well spent or lining pockets.
I must have missed that - what exactly did Ryan do for the national effort during Covid? Please elaborate.
Don’t take the bait from the vacuum.
He tried to collect all misery in one spot, between 9.30 and 11.30 on fri nights, so everyone else could avoid it
