Feels like the right time to start a new thread for next year's gigs.
John Mayer playing the 3Arena on 29 March 2024.
I actually got very decent seats for Belfast at £85 plus fees. Right at the front on the south tier. I notice that the front section wasn't available on pre-sale the highest price ones were in the 2nd block so presumably the whole of the first block is going to be VIP.
I've found that yoiu can get the equivalent tiered seats much cheaper. Went to see Kenny Dalglish in Conversation at the Waterfront Hall before covid. Front couple of rows were VIP and cost £160. We were at the very front of the tiered seating level with that and paid £40. Same with Simply Red - £85 each and we're level with the front row, in fact looking at the seating plan maybe even slightly closer.
And to be fair, acoustically the lower levels of the tiered seating in the 3Arena are probably better for a seated music gig.
I've never been in the 3Arena but from past experience in the SSE Arena (Belfast) there's very little difference.
Random gig question.
Purchased three tickets for Olivia Rodrigo for next year for a friend and their kids. On the ticketmaster event page and through the checkout process it says "Under 16s must be accompanied by an adult". No issues.
But on the receipt (only after I've bought them) it says "Standing 14+).
One of the kids is passable as a 14 year old but the other is a bit younger. Does anyone have experience of this on the night? Assuming they do have a problem on the night (which they may or may not) would they move them to seats?
Bit irritating that this is only noted on the receipt
This was asked recently and the general view was that it would probably be okay, especially if there was an adult with them.
There was an eight year old on the barrier at Shania Twain last night, despite standing being "strictly over 14s."
Thanks!
Seems like the The "And Then There Was Three" Take That with a 3arena gig will be announced soon as part of their new album tour.
jesus Take That is still a thing
Riding the gravy train to say the least
Plus i think its down to 3 of them now
It's been three of them for nearly ten years and to be fair, the "fourth" member who left rarely did anything other than dance.
They still put on a cracking show.
I'm a Fleetwood Mac, Led Zeppelin, Police, Killers kinda guy but one of the best gigs I've ever seen was Take That at the Aviva.
Not gonna lie, love a bit of Take That. Some great tunes. Will buy tickets for this under the "missus dragged me" banner.
Was checking tickets for Simply Red this morning. I was offered seats in the presale on Tuesday with a face value of £85. The exact same seats were available on Ticketmaster today with a face value of £80. How the feck does that work?
they changed the price configuration for certain rows/sections.
Take That are like late 80s Genesis.A gulity pleasure trio and everyone wants the classic 5 piece line up and not that fussed on the short lived 4 piece line up.
They are still £85 face value on the presale site and £80 on ticketmaster - EXACT SAME SEATS! That makes no sense.
Woooah, hold on. You're telling me that Ticketmaster pricing on a high profile 3 Arena gig makes no sense??! Is not logical? Is..UNFAIR??!!
Take That 22nd/23rd April in 3Arena.
Face value is face value! Yes there may be other charges depending on who you're buying from or how you're buying them (eg: resale) but my point is that face value should be the same no matter where you buy from.
And I never mentioned the 3 Arena. The fact that I'm quoting prices in pounds is a clue... This is the SSE Arena in Belfast.
Alright buddy, I wasn't having a pop at you. The whole dynamic pricing conversation has been raging in here for a while. I just mean the concept of face value is starting to seem like a thing of the past.
The whole thing is getting out of hand! The recent prices for Simple Minds were a joke. It looked like someone went in and attached random prices on each seat. From what I can see it's putting people off going to Arena shows now, not there were many fans of the Arenas anyway as they're large soulless places with little atmosphere. Give me the smaller venues any day.
Oh I'm with you on the small venues. Tragically, it doesn't seem to be putting people off the big shows at all, that's the only reason it's happening. Not everyone can be as wise as us, I guess.
Is Olly Murs the support act for Ireland too?
I assume so as he's on the poster and he's confirmed he's on the road for "the tour" so yeah, more likely than not,it seems.
Dynamic not in use for that so It could be either ticketmaster incorrectly labelled that row as £85 in pre sale and then changed it £80 for general or they lowered it as no one both at pre sale.
promoters/agent go section by section/by row and agree face value pricing so normally face value doesn’t change between pre sale and sale.
Presalee wasn't through Ticketmaster! It was ticketsie.tkts.me who i had never heard of before this week.
similarly could of been an error on tickets. Can happen that row added to incorrect price band
The 2 Johnnies, Craig David and Five playing St Anne's Park on Saturday 8th June. https://twitter.com/mcd_productions/status/1706201872279712131?t=a6-W8gl3n7DqGi2YzIl7-g&s=19
What a weird combination 😂
