Not a good look. I wonder did he go because this was going to come to light?

I wonder if Tubs had to replace the front door yet with all the banging it's getting from those TV channels sending reps to get him?
RTE refusing PAC's request for details of Dee's contract and Breda's sly voluntary exit package. I wonder why they have zero respect for our govmt. Reminds me how the ABP Chairman flat-our refused to apologise for the going's on's in Planning, he also saw no reason to explain himself to our "hard working" govmt.
We haven't even got round to discussing Moya "there can be no conflict of interest" Doherty's 800k yet either, LOL!
https://www.irishtimes.com/politics/2023/09/21/rte-refuses-to-release-details-of-dee-forbes-contract-and-exit-packages-for-top-executives/
Here's a simple solution. No government bailout until all requested documents and files are provided. Soon soften their cough. Shower of chancers in RTE, placated by a spineless government.
Moya Doherty on the appointment of Dee Forbes. Never forget!
Moya Doherty, chairwoman of the RTÉ board, said the appointment marks a “significant moment” in the development of the broadcaster.
“Not only is this the first director-general in almost 50 years to be appointed externally, but she will also be the first female to hold the role,” she said. “RTÉ is at a pivotal moment, one where the future shape and financing of public service broadcasting is being re-imagined. I am delighted to have someone with such a breadth of industry experience, such a creative and visionary understanding of the global broadcasting market, and a proven management record.”
WTF is wrong with these people. A guy that has literally robbed (sorry, that word annoys people), KEPT 150k of licence payers money, after promising he'd pay it back, WTF. Words fail me.
There's a decent chance Tubs will be on it. Matt is a defender of the DLB.
He must be still reading through the manual of how to operate it.
It was 'state of the art' remember.
He's stuck at the "press any key to continue" stage. He can't find the 'any' key. :)
Regards...jmcc
Poor Ryan, he must be inundated with getting cards and letters from people he don't even know. And offers comin' over the phone.
Better stop, I'm starting to sound like Sunny.
I wonder how many staff are over at the rugby WC in France?
I see on the 9 news, Claire McNamara doing a report, and handing over to Paul Flynn to add on some more detail. Both there anyway.
Yes - just what is going on here? https://www.rte.ie/news/2023/0921/1406647-rte-pac/
These are public servants employed by the state and this organisation is refusing to be accountable to those who they expect to fund them?
To hell with their 'legal and contractual obligations'. Who is paying the piper here.
Surely the PAC have to stop this nonsense and demand full co-operation.
Stockholm Syndrome.
If Martin is on top of her brief she would have told RTE if you don't supply all the documents that you are asked for, there will be no government bailout.
Sadly Martin is doing sweet fucck all.
When RTE "refuses" to divulge information as reported a couple of hours ago. Who is responsible for that refusal? When they release a document or some form of communication in which they are "refusing" to provide clarification, is that signed off or commissioned/agreed by the board or the DG directly? My question is who exactly in RTE is refusing?
Yet Another Teacher Seeking Election (YATSE). She's out of her depth when it comes to dealing with RTE as it is obviously a highly dysfunctional organisation. They've run rings aorund her.
PAC's sucking up to the RTE Board in that last meeting has blown right back in their faces. RTE Execs saying to Govmt: everyone knows that Moya, Breda and Geraldine were casually abusing public funds but what do you think you are you going to do about it?!! If you don't fund us then who is going to help you combat SF and the "far right". That little UN jolly for our democracy crusading states-persons Ministers Leo/Micheal/Stephen/Eamonn has been somewhat overcast by domestic events and they really do not like that, LOL!
Martin wants to keep RTE onside as its very green-friendly, invaluable for her going into an election
It is claiming contractual and legal issues do not permit it to release the documents. As with Tubridy's payments, RTE's excuses are looking increasingly threadbare. It would be surprsing if this whole thing escalated before any bailout.
Completely agree, it's time to raise the pressure if they are going to pull this crap...
Withholding all funding is a start...
Can RTE (board/DG/other) confirm all details of these missing documents fully comply with the Law?
I would start sending in the Guards/Fraud squad at this stage and sort them out.
This is sad! Holohan launches a memoir and guess who turns up at the book launch.
There is literally no way RTE would have issued that statement re not releasing the details of Forbes contract and O'Keefe's exit package unless it was signed off by the government first - The government are knee-deep in this sh!t and always have been
Some random notes I had drafted:
Dee Forbes needs to be arrested and questioned on potential fraud charges - She can be questioned in the ICU if needed
Why has the extra non payment of TV licence figs (that were been released weekly) stopped being released with just an estimate of what that figure at years end will be, being talked about?
I see Donncha O'Callaghan and Noel K are so concerned about the plight of the children in Libya, they decided to make a few quid for themselves off the back of it - Are people more likely to donate to UNICEF because one of Noel's boys is on the radio?...I very much doubt it - complete waste of money - Team NK have no shame
And speaking of ads, the amount of Govt ads now is off the scale and I'd guess that RTE's advertising income is about 70/80% powered by the Govt in one way or another...and to avoid this being blatantly obvious, they're having to pay to run these ads on other stations too
Probably a bit of everything and a legal team - probably a hornet's nest in the details
But they want 55 million euro...but openness, truth matters and all that crap doesn't apply to RTE
Oh FFS!
And Kevin was supposed to usher in this new era of transparency eh?
One would start to wonder what dirt RT has on the Independent or who does he know high up there - literally someone's book launch but gotta put in a paragraph or two about RT to start the piece
If he wants to go to a book launch, and is welcomed by the author, he's free to go.
I'm not saying he doesn't owe the tax payer but he's legally an innocent man who can go where he wants at the moment.
To be honest I think the FFGG government have known for years that RTE was a runaway gravy train. It ignored this because they were knee deep in the trough too and RTE were pro FFG status quo.
Banana Republic with an idiotic electorate.
The issue is more a piece about TH being led with a piece about RT - the Independent are relentless with their desire to keep him in the headlines
The Gardai will play ball. They will find nothing. This is Ireland.
Brass neck though. Zero shame. And I bet nobody at the launch asked him "what's the story with the 150k payback Ryan?". Love to see the photos of the launch, but I bet it was full of other brass necks too.
I see that the "Sunday Independent carried exclusive extracts from Dr Holohan’s book at the weekend." They probably asked Tubridy to do a free gig in return for some deferential press.
