Irritating sound feedback for the Souness interview.
Incredible waffle from marcotti today
I find him so hard to listen to. I know I've posted this here before, but has he ever, even for a second, considered that he might be wrong about anything football related? I was hoping after he was on shilling for the Saudis the last time that we might have heard the last of him.
Marcotti was spot on for calling Ken out for his nonsense that the champions league wasn't good last year. Marcotti rightfully pointed out in other words that the world doesn't start and end with the premier league teams as much as English and Irish people think it does unfortunately.
Thanks for the heads up, definitely skipping today's one so!!
So the Athletic listens to SC…
While I find Souness’s vendetta against Pogba a bit OTT, the implication of that article seems to be that black footballers should be given an easier ride by pundits than white ones, because criticism of them is liable to be “problematic”
That's behind a paywall
Spot on calling out ken on that alright but last years champions league wasn't that good compared to previous years as a neutral. Everything else he talked about was drivel!
Talking about how haaland and alcaraz were release claus buy?! Eh so what, they paid crazy wages for them and man city are under investigation for financial rules breaches. GM was just talking how man city are so shrewd.
Bizarre end point he brought up asking keb how many of the red star players did he know. Really couldn't understand what he was getting at there.
I haven't read the article as I'm not a subscriber anymore but if that's what they are saying that's crazy IMO.
He's the most obnoxious contrarian out there. Absolutely insufferable. Won't listen if he's ever on again.
The time he said the Saudi government don't just throw cash around because they have to answer to the Saudi people?
He's the only contributor they have I will definitely skip.
The reason the CL is not was not as good last year was they got rid of away goals.
I actually find him very intriguing to listen to, but only in that Howard Stern shock jock way, what the hell double position will he take now on any given situation. He challenged Ken about Red Star. Ken then gave him a cogent answer and then "Gabby" said, yeah, I agree with you there. Strange guy. But still somewhat must listen for me.
Well I hate to burst your bubble but it was the previous year that the away goals rule was removed and that had one of the all time great CL knock out stages
Murph's book arrived fron Easons's yesterday. Looking forward to it.
Saw it in Eason last Saturday, heard him talk to Matt Cooper about it last night, chances of him promoting it on Off The Ball? 😬
The lads didn’t sound too happy about being called out on their lack of allyship
delighted, your man was an idiot. what really was weird was his statement 'disappointing considering your usually progressive views' or something. so to Adrian, you need to pick your side and stick to all the viewpoints of said side. which further entrenches us all in these culture wars
What's this all about or who called them out?
Hearing Murph declare himself man of the match at Eoin and Ken's weddings has me worried that the stories in his book won't be as funny or good as he thinks. Hopefully I'm wrong, I've the book here waiting to be read.
Did they do the egomaniac slot at the live show?
Methinks Murph would be front and centre of that. I've never heard anyone declare themselves the most popular person at a wedding.
Yesterday’s show
Best of luck to Murph with the book.
When he was talking about why he wrote the book etc. I thought straight away about Christy O'Connor's book, which was excellent.
There's room for another one I suppose!
Enjoyed the chat about it today.
Ken vs. Marcotti
Young Murph being bratty in that clip they played probably explains why most of the egomaniac stories are about him.
Am I the only one who was thinking "who asked for a book that is obstensibly about a random GAA player's life?"
Best of luck to him. I won't be buying it, I give SC enough and Murphs story doesn't sound interesting.
If Ken released a book now...
To be honest, the show on Friday didn’t make we want to read his book.
I found the extract in the Irish Times last week, about the player with one hand, interesting. But random recollections by Murph of his childhood…you’re alright thanks
Yeah same for me. Best of luck to him with it, but I was listening to that podcast on Friday wondering where the demand was.
Have no interest in GAA, but the book sounds interesting to me. Had never really thought about the amount of volunteering that goes on behind the scenes or how people were almost guilt tripped into doing what they do.
Can see there being a decent market for it amongst people at all levels in the GAA and a lot of Second Captains listeners. If it's pushed by Eason's in the next couple of months I could imagine a lot of fathers receiving it for Christmas.
