No, I doubt very much if Putin sees Kadyrov as any kind of opposition, never mind as a contender for the throne. Distance wise, Grozny airport is about 2 hrs flight time from Moscow. And culture wise, neither one would last very long if they were transplanted into each others domains. No. Kadyrov is more valuable to Putin alive. I'd be looking much closer to Chechnya for those responsible for Kadyrov's illness. ( which, personally, I hope proves fatal)
After not much change for a few week's Klishchiivka and Adriivka just south of Bakhmut have been liberated. While progress is slow it's good to see Russia continue to lose ground even after throwing the kitchen sink at holding it.
Ukraine have now applied decent pressure to the south of the city and are looking to take another 2 villages a little further south. I'd love to see them make gain's North of it but doesn't look like they've been trying. Conditions for attacking must not be favourable.
Reports that Kadyrov is getting worse
NEXTA on X: "Kadyrov is in critical condition A representative of the Main Intelligence Directorate of Ukraine, Andrei Yusov, said that Kadyrov’s illnesses worsened, which led to a critical condition. "The information is confirmed from various sources in medical and political circles. This… https://t.co/UFlFn44HLB" / X (twitter.com)
No, he didn't invent it. Its traditional military dress from all of that region, with the white sheep's wool headdress / cap hanging in the back ground also traditional dress. Its used as a pillow by shepherds minding their flocks. Very comfortable they are too, except when the front bit keeps falling in your eye's 😂
It will most likely open up an internal revolt in Chechnya against the Kadyrov clan,,,,from the Chechen opposition who consider Kadyrov to be a traitor, and have never forgiven him for that. Plus, like all his kind, he's a brutal war lord. and very unpopular. So be interesting to see how it plays out, and if the Kadyrov's are defeated, what position will the replacement take regarding Putin?
The bit about it being a defenestration protection suit that he invented himself was a joke 😉
You can be damn sure that all of the approved candidates are pro Kadyrov pro Moscow individuals.
Its surprising, what can and will be done once peace returns. All these places were homes, farms , someone's property, and all they own. So yes, if the owners can come back, they will. But in this case, not for a very long time I think.
Some reports coming in saying the drone didn't actually miss, and that the Samum was damaged. As unbelievable as it might sound, the Russian Ministry of Offense lied.
Link?
Thing is, some of these places are little more than Hamlets and small villages; urbanisation would have been happening in any case before the war and I daresay the villages' populations were declining even before the buildings got bombed to rubble.
Not every settlement will get rebuilt, surely there won't be enough money, and if the area remains dangerous through mines, unexploded or leaking ordinance, collapsed bridges etc, places like Andriivka may not be worth rebuilding.
And that's even speaking with the assumption Andriivka's population are still alive and weren't killed during the fighting, or fled the country full stop.
I'd say that at this stage, it will not help him anyway... the attack is coming from inside, not outside. In the words of the poet, he's Plufked !!!
Its doing the rounds on few links alright
the RuSSian black sea fleet is in trouble. Its getting picked apart. This has the added bonus of sea based missiles not able to help Russian Southern operations. Could help speed up a Russian frontline collapse.
Be worrying stuck in a frontline position and knowing that the expensive good sh1t well behind you is getting blasted lol.
Ya but I was thinking "what would it be like in Ireland"
If we got levelled tomorrow I could see a lot of little crossroad villages disappearing forever.
Looks like Romania has had enough
Yeah, but imagine Ireland 100 or 150 years ago, the land was literally everything. It was all you had, and it was your very survival. That's what its like still in many places around the world. So they fled to the cities for safety. But only because of that. They had no choice. And now they face an uncertain future, so first chance they get they will try to restore the old life.
I'd qualify this with "the current generation." The rebuilds will take decades. Hopefully RuZZia pays.
Yes hopefully. But here and now, you can see glimpses of what rural live is like in Ukraine ( in Putin's Russia, its far worse. hence the theft of things like toilets, washing machines etc in fact everything by Russians.) I've lived in places like that, and basic does not even describe it.
Is Ukraine 100/150 years behind Ireland 🤔
Vlad must be stewing in his own juices in rage over the last few days.
The translation is with this one.
Rusich basically beating up one of their own in Moscow.
One for @jmreire.
Putin's mafia connections living the life.
The effectiveness of sanctions diminishes quick enough over time.
Fly it out to Mali, export it to Mongolia and get some J1 students to drive it to St Petersburg kinda job.
Even since 199i1when Ukraine got its independence, it has pulled away from Russia, and its countryside, never mind its towns and Cities are definitely better than their Russian counterparts. Maybe going back 100 or 150 years is a bit of an exaggeration. But make your own minds up,,,, people grow their vegetables, rear their own chickens, sheep, goats and pigs etc. Say you are going out to work in the morning, and you see the wife of the house owner you are staying with dragging a chicken, lamb, goose etc. onto the porch, and you ask what's for dinner this evening? and she points to the unlucky chicken, goose or lamb etc. Then you want to use the toilet, and in a lot of cases, if the house happens to be a two story, you go along the landing until you meet a door, which opens out onto a platform with a hole in it, which overlooks the cowshed below, where all the animal manure is stored, and you add yours to it. Come spring, its all carted out and spread on the fields as fertilizer. Mainly the water comes from the wells, which can supply whole villages. Motor bikes are very common, and they will be used as workhorses too. They may have a trailer attached. Speaking of which, horses themselves would still be a part of rural life, either as workhorses, or as a prized possessions'. The roads vary. The further away from the town or city, the worse the roads will be, to the extent that they vanish into just tracks. The rivers and streams that bisect the roads, will have bridges of varying "quality" too. Electricity varies from being a bit erratic, to non existent. There's much much more, but the gist of it is Life is pretty basic. If by some quirk of fate, you found yourself transported into such a place as I've described, you would find it a very strange world indeed.
On another thread simply called "Russia" where the poster is asking would it be a possible or even a good idea to visit Russia for a holiday. I advised against it at the present time for many reasons, one being that should you just be walking along the street and spoke English, and was overheard, the consequences could be very bad. That vid was the perfect example, and what they dished out was to one of their own....imagine what would happen if you as a visitor i encountered these hyped up thugs? And no guarantee that the police would be in a hurry to help either.
Yes, that's what they do!!!
For these champagne swilling gangsters, there will always be ways and means to get what they want, but for the majority of Russians, they have to do without. There's lots of talks in the papers, internet etc about how the sanctions are not working, they hurting us more than them etc. Yet in each and every proposal put forward by Putin, lifting of sanctions is always a central demand. The sanctions are working, and working very well. And should be tightened up even more, to include Country's that are helping Russia evade them.
Well, despite all the glamour and glitz on display, it probably is the real thing, but Russia being Russia, would not surprise me in the slightest if the only thing 100% genuine would be the spelling on the label.....
Kinda underlining that whatever else they actually did, ANTIFA have become a useful, kneejerk bogeyman for right wing àssholes to worry over.
Do you actually read the thread or are you just quote dumping ?
