I saw that headline earlier and assumed it was the one destroyed the other week. So they've lost 2x S-400 systems in a matter of weeks.
I'd love to see the AA degraded so much in Crimea that Ukraine can just fly their drones across the black sea (avoiding all the systems along the Frontline) and hammer away at the Russian logistics. The taking back of the oil platforms certainly helps.
What do you think doesn't add up? Even the Russians admitted (last year) that they fired one missile. We don't know anything about the range they were fired from, or if countermeasures were used.
I would love to read the direct transcript of the Russian comms between the two pilots.
Will we see a large push in Crimea in the coming weeks, or will UKR continue with their slow & steady progress coupled with targeted destruction of RU supply lines and critical infrastructure. I think the latter but I do hope that URK has the ability to prevent RU digging in over this coming winter and laying so many mines/defence structures that have proven to slow URK advances in the past couple of months.
Crimea is a whole different ball game and would require massive preparations, 12 months at least.
They need to get to the Azov sea first to cut the land bridge and that is looking like it won't happen this year, hope I'm wrong though
That's kind of insane, especially given their price tag. The US/ NATO has to be supplying Ukraine with an insane level of detail, to wreck an entire system like that can't be entirely on their own.
Meanwhile, at Russia's forward HQ...
I'd speculate the complete retreat of the black sea fleet from Crimea to that Russian base further East.
I don't think we will ever see resources poured into a large scale storming of Crimea. Effective blockade would be a much better tactic.
This is like a version of Monopoly.
If that version meant destroying your opponents most expensive military hardware.
Not just intel, I wouldn't be surprised if the SAS had been involved in planning that whole operation. From what little I've seen, this looks eerily similar to the Pebble Island raid during the Falklands, where SAS forces effectively took out an entire squadron of Argentine ground attack aircraft on the ground
The description I read from Twitter link above was:
According to the sources, first, SSU drones hit the "eyes" of the complex — radars and antennas. After disabling the radar stations, the Navy unit struck the S300/400 Triumph launch systems with two Neptune cruise missiles.
You think the 'SAS' part was the drone hit? Or the whole thing was a commando type attack and the cruise missile story is a cover?
I would have said Battleships. Except one side has no Battleships to start with.
Ya battleships but somehow the navy that has no ships is winning 🤣
Absolutely, cut the land route and blow the Kerch Bridge. That will rapidly refocus the minds of the Russian settlers who will flee like rats back on the ferries.
Its just a pity that they don't have another month to complete that push. They'll be facing into another nightmare of minefields come next April.
Hopefully they can at least disrupt the flow of mines and maybe make life hard (or end) for the mine layers.
Andriivka claimed as liberated. A tiny settlement with likely none of it left.
edit... or is it?
Looking at the Deepstate map the village became grey in the last couple of days (from Russian control) so the momentum is with Ukrainian forces at least.
Why would Mailar jump the gun like that? She's made a few unhelpful slips.
...
What is this shte and what is the purpose of posting it.
Is she famous or something ?
That's a pro russian X/twitter account and looks to be a fake.
It's a bit embarassing if the deputy minister says "we have liberated this place" and the troops actually doing the liberating have to say "umm, actually..".
Anyway, she's changed her statement now, apparently.
More attacks on ships, this time (according to Russians!) no damage.
I have a feeling we might be hearing more about attacks against the Black Sea Fleet soon.
Coming up second in a naval war against a country without a navy. Gorshkov (The architect of the Soviet Navy of the 1970s and 1980s) must be turning in his grave...
@breezy1985 "What is this shte and what is the purpose of posting it.

She is a (self-appointed???) spokesperson for UA, Sarah Ashton-Cirillo. If this is AI, ignore. If not, it makes for a really bad public image.
She is clearly self appointed and nothing but a loon with a fake news channel and an X account.
The only image its bad for is anyone who bothers sharing this shte.
She is an idiot. What's wrong with calling out an idiot?
They say the drone was destroyed
I mean yeah. It's a suicide drone. But was it destroyed when it blew a chunk out of the Russian corvette? In the same way the storm shadow missiles were "destroyed" when they were intercepted by the submarine hull. 😀
Do these ports freeze over in the winter?
The internet is full of idiots, one person's calling out is attention for an idiot.
Telegram channels apparently alight about more explosions in Sevastapol Bay, to be confirmed. Also:
Seems like UAF are really targeting Russian boats with great prejudice for some reason this week.
