Farmers are worthless to the economy now and a pain to the government until they tidy up their act, As far as I'm concerned 1990 -2020 was the best thirty years in farming in the last 100 years...... not because of prices but because of the exceptional subsidies, which we probably never deserved.
Farmers not obeying the rules are what's causing them to be tightened.
IFA is still going because farmers know they are a worthless lobby without them, and are afraid to stop subscribing and yet they cant be arsed supporting them Physically
The higher up in farm organisation in this country you climb the better life gets im not going to give anymore examples but people have done very well in life after representing fatmers i have no problem with that but when u end up working for the people u used to supposedly lobbied something doesnt add up.
You can't really be too hard on the IFA here because a few lads still believe the sun shines out their hole and they get offended. The way you are talking about them is what I often hear from farmers on the ground.
Some of the IFA staff from Bluebell went to meet DG Agri during the summer and put their case to them. DG Agri said they would consider any proposal brought by Dublin before making a decision or making any public statement.
The door was open but, as you say, McConalogue and DAFM wouldn't even submit another proposal.
If you want the trip to a America, why don't you put the work in during the years, like they did.
There is no shame in hard work, you'll be better off for it.
Everyone is entitled to a holiday, County officers do multiple hours of meeting and lobbying more than normal farmers . You reaLLY ARE A SAD PERSON
i see new tranche of acres is open this is where the government loyalty lies .Alot of dairy farmers cud apply 1500 a hectare for not farming bad areas of your farm which we all have u wouldnt make that out of cows
I see in ifj last week that no need for lieback in kale fodder crops but the must be no poaching what planet is everyone on im a farmer and if youve heavy rain or not cattle poach fodder crops theres massive nutrient run of and al this is legal i do agree with the proposals you put in picture they do make sense
Were you with the gang who went on holidays to america they cud have been bette of staying at home lobbying.
Whats that overall limit of 445kg N/ha? Where did that come from?
a local branch delegate.
What position have u in ifa
Ifa put these proposals to the minister and he took no interest in them and he never brought them to the commissioner
I think we would all take a cut in inorganic N if we could keep the organic N and our earring potential
You’re listening too much to those environmentalists that want nothing more only Irish ag destroyed
the fact of the matter is 2.5 of Irish water ways are over 40mg/l of N
the eu average is 20%, sone member states hitting over 30% water ways affected
the cut off point for safe drinking water is 50 mgl
were being made out to be bogey men abd they’re doing a great job of it
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣Great explanation for him
It'll soon be time for Biofarm 2023.
At least they had the sense to drop John Gibbons from anymore involvements. The man is an ass. They tried to involve and educate him on regenerative farming but he threw it back in their faces. An odious little man. I see somewhere else describe him as the man that never got the biestings.
Ive raised some serious issues on this thread which are 100 percent true and the same farmers who whing about nitrate mock me.Guys ladies u all have been made fools of by ur reps colin markey waffle ifa going to america for holidays, ex icmsa president cahill telling us the game is over.Do any of you think any ec beefplan reps will join a political party or be let join il tell u no cus they rocked the boat.
Quotas are back 😁
This post is completely uncalled for imo.
🤣🤣🤣🤣👍👍👍
Ya I m not around as long as some but it's definitely a familiar style ....has gone from pure taking the piss too. To a slightly less attack minded post
Has to be consequences from actions from people in his position …..he had to go and didn’t have many batting for him….would of been political suicide for govt if he staid …..a stupid shambolic mistake to make for someone who could of had huge influence for us in Europe
The whole country went mad until he went sure didnt we all break covid laws
I dont understand
I was going to say a day off.
Phil Hogan a huge huge loss to us....
A rarity...
What do you call the evening meal at 6 o clock
The nitrates section on Agfood is a pure joke this year. We are always near the limit and it's something that I keep a keen eye on throughout the year. Luckily I keep my own spread sheet of sales in/out and newborns otherwise we would be feck'ed.
Where can I access nitrate and stocking rate on the farm, used to be quarterly updated on agfood but nothing there I can see
