Quotas are back 😁
Ive raised some serious issues on this thread which are 100 percent true and the same farmers who whing about nitrate mock me.Guys ladies u all have been made fools of by ur reps colin markey waffle ifa going to america for holidays, ex icmsa president cahill telling us the game is over.Do any of you think any ec beefplan reps will join a political party or be let join il tell u no cus they rocked the boat.
It'll soon be time for Biofarm 2023.
At least they had the sense to drop John Gibbons from anymore involvements. The man is an ass. They tried to involve and educate him on regenerative farming but he threw it back in their faces. An odious little man. I see somewhere else describe him as the man that never got the biestings.
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣Great explanation for him
You’re listening too much to those environmentalists that want nothing more only Irish ag destroyed
the fact of the matter is 2.5 of Irish water ways are over 40mg/l of N
the eu average is 20%, sone member states hitting over 30% water ways affected
the cut off point for safe drinking water is 50 mgl
were being made out to be bogey men abd they’re doing a great job of it
Ifa put these proposals to the minister and he took no interest in them and he never brought them to the commissioner
I think we would all take a cut in inorganic N if we could keep the organic N and our earring potential
What position have u in ifa
a local branch delegate.
Whats that overall limit of 445kg N/ha? Where did that come from?
Were you with the gang who went on holidays to america they cud have been bette of staying at home lobbying.
I see in ifj last week that no need for lieback in kale fodder crops but the must be no poaching what planet is everyone on im a farmer and if youve heavy rain or not cattle poach fodder crops theres massive nutrient run of and al this is legal i do agree with the proposals you put in picture they do make sense
i see new tranche of acres is open this is where the government loyalty lies .Alot of dairy farmers cud apply 1500 a hectare for not farming bad areas of your farm which we all have u wouldnt make that out of cows
Everyone is entitled to a holiday, County officers do multiple hours of meeting and lobbying more than normal farmers . You reaLLY ARE A SAD PERSON
If you want the trip to a America, why don't you put the work in during the years, like they did.
There is no shame in hard work, you'll be better off for it.
Some of the IFA staff from Bluebell went to meet DG Agri during the summer and put their case to them. DG Agri said they would consider any proposal brought by Dublin before making a decision or making any public statement.
The door was open but, as you say, McConalogue and DAFM wouldn't even submit another proposal.
You can't really be too hard on the IFA here because a few lads still believe the sun shines out their hole and they get offended. The way you are talking about them is what I often hear from farmers on the ground.
The higher up in farm organisation in this country you climb the better life gets im not going to give anymore examples but people have done very well in life after representing fatmers i have no problem with that but when u end up working for the people u used to supposedly lobbied something doesnt add up.
Farmers are worthless to the economy now and a pain to the government until they tidy up their act, As far as I'm concerned 1990 -2020 was the best thirty years in farming in the last 100 years...... not because of prices but because of the exceptional subsidies, which we probably never deserved.
Farmers not obeying the rules are what's causing them to be tightened.
IFA is still going because farmers know they are a worthless lobby without them, and are afraid to stop subscribing and yet they cant be arsed supporting them Physically
We can all see that but it doesn't mean that there are not some very well intentioned people in the IFA too. I wouldn't be their biggest fan by any means but there are some people in their trying their best.
A pretty fair synopsis there …..I asked around to see if I could gather a few heads to go to horse and jockey …..majority had excuses most just couldn’t be arsed and will be whinging and moaning about IFA been too late etc ……but nothing about why they wouldn’t get off there arse and go join a protest for a few hours ……the easiest thing to do is give out ….do nothing and then give out again ….IFA isn’t perfect but without them farmers would be in some hole
Did u see the beefplan protests they hadh huge support from family farms there was no problem getting people to stand at factory gates
Who got these subsidies big farmers the bigger u were the more u got.No complaints from ifa.Big dairy farmers had high entitlement cus of dairy beef.Didnt have to keep beef switched to dairy they were great times if u were a big farmer alright
Huge support 😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀initially there was lots of support but there antics and methods saw that support wane …..
for a big dairy farmer with a heap of cows you’ve some ammount of time on your hands ….you’ll have to take some time off here later for your weekly hammer job on farmers with your buddy
Jaysus a humongous farmer like you must be creaming it so
I think a lot of the reasoning behind not supporting the protest is because the 250 is a lost cause so why hammer on about it. Get together come up with some sort of plan to maintain 220 in 2 years time and get the wheels in motion now with govt to ensure it’s protected then that would be a much more logical approach as opposed to 30 auld lads crying over spilt milk now.
We can’t roll over either …..this govt and minister have let us down numerous times ….Charlie didn’t see fit to arm himself up with experts and travel to Brussels …..instead just went online ….shows his commitment on such an important issue …..yet he can jet off to Africa today 🙄🙄…..we’ve lost so much ground now I think deep down most of us know dero is done for in 3 years but we need to do everything to try and reverse it …..anyone spreading slurry in closed period should be shopped for it ….just not on
Cant you boys follow charlie to south africa loobby him there just like u did in horse and jockey.Fbd will sponsor the the holiday
That rhetoric reasonates with a lot of farmers but the ifa will not achieve this on our behalf, cullinan is completely and utterly inept in his role. If the ifa is meant to represent farmers they are as culpable as the govt for the lack of transparency with farmers. Surely it is their job also to interact with the govt on pressing issues such as nitrates and have what’s looking like coming down the line communicated to farmers. Then it would be a lot easier to protest something well in advance instead of protesting after it’s already been ratified. Or alternatively protect farmers from the outfall from the removal of derogation or other such issues.
It’s the chemical N allowance plus the organic N allowance
250 organic N plus 190 chemical N
This shite talk about holidays is utterly pointless. Contribute to the discussion or **** off. So far it's digs at other posters, playing the great farmer and not a peep out of how ya became such in order to maybe educate the less fortunate. It's pretty tiresome and the discussion on this thread is a joke since ya joined in.
