3.25 for a litre of water with a cup full of oats horsed in. Must be so much cheaper to produce than actual milk
1 litre of generic soya is cheaper than 1 litre of dairy milk at the mo, wasn't always so.
The branded stuff would be more expensive.
No they are not and they are actually better for you and the planet. Also not all of us have the choice. Some of us can not have dairy so we drink Soya ir Cocanut or Almond Milk.
Have you seen the price of a field these days?
They’re a lot more expensive than byres.
Almond milk is not good for the planet with the amount of water needed to grow almonds. Not to mention they have to then be shipped half way across the world
Like all products some are done better than others depending on the price. At least they do not produce any Methan unlike Cows which do Answer me this. Do you wear anything Cotton at all?
Yup. But so is milk.
Milk is for babies. Adults drink water.
Almond milk is getting less popular. Oat milk is everywhere these days.
Well that's just not true.
Edit: yes they are ridiculously overpriced OP
There was an Arnie quote involving beer that was similar.
Dairy allergies and intolerance is no fun.
Milk powder is where it is at. Just mix with water
Im lactose intolerant, I like hazelnut milk the best myself though only use on coffee , black tea and don’t eat cereal
Oat milk is lovely especially the keep refrigerated ones by Alpro.
It's best before date is for a month + I think. So that saves on wastage
I'm prepared to pay extra for the taste and shelf life
Watery shıte. Proper milk all the way.
All these milk substitutes are packed with gums and stabilizers. Imo they're not better for you than milk and there's a reason they've a long shelf life. For this reason I've recently switched back from coconut milk to whole milk for my morning porridge.
Oat is the best, and you can buy Flahavans which is made from Irish oats. There are so many types of oat milk now that usually one of them is on offer in supermarkets.
Don't be weak and just tolerate it
Cheese yes. Milk no.
I think Ron Swanson sums it up best:
Most adults can't properly digest cow's milk. That should really tell you something. Yes, in this country, we all grew up sucking from Daisy. Doesn't mean it's the best option.
I can. +1 for lactase persistence! And I don't even drink that much milk, but I do like cheese and ice-cream so I'd be disgusted if I became lactose intolerant. Mad history to it if you go looking, and still as of yet no definite answer. Almond milk needs to die, it's just so bad for the environment to replace something that's allegedly just as bad.
That’s bollocks. Soya & almond milk are terrible for the environment.
So you ingest no milk in your entire diet then I assume? Chocolate etc is a no go cos it’s for babies..

Unless it’s uht milk… but there’s o demand for that coz it’s shite
Ah no worse for the environment than electric cars. Its a foreign environment problem you're worrying about. Sure stop worrying, Eamonn isn't. If it didnt happen here, it never happened.
Re the Op, I use soya milk only. Cereals and by the glass. As much protein as milk and far less bad for the body and the Irish environment (the only one being measured by our Green superiors) although they do occasionally bleat that the world is burning but keep pushing battery and pv tech God bless em.
Huge dairy herds are an abomination and ruinous of the environment on many levels. A proper sh1tbird exercise.
And milk is for babies only. Ask any vet about milk and cats. Indeed, query where are the babies whose milk you ignorantly suckle...
Let the market find itself.
Let people choose what they want.
But the archaic practice of subsidising farmers, ad infinitum, has to end.
The folks that produce goods that the market want to consume will do just fine.
Farming today is a form of social welfare that is bad for the environment when scaled out of proportion and costs us, as tax payers, to boot.
Let farming find its level. Same as every other industry does.
I don't care about the price but calling them milk is clearly nonsense to begin with.
The subsidies might be given to the farmers but its the supermarket chains who benefit the most from them
They don’t call them milk anymore tbh
in recent experience they are referred to as just “drink” (with the exception I think of coconut because that is generally actually coconut milk)
We live in a country that is a literal garden of Eden when it comes to producing cow milk, so unless you have an actual medical condition your going to have a hard time convincing me that any kind processed alternative is superior in anyway.
