Apparently, according to some, there's no excuses and Ukraine should be simply wandering across the mine-fields like it was wheat. Anything else is just slow-going. Reality be damned.
Well, if that 108km2 gives Ukraine artillery control over Russian logistics, then its more than enough. Its all they need in fact for now. Let Putin send his ammo and supplies along that route, and Ukraine will take them out, with pleasure. They don't have to do anything else, sit it out until the Russians run out of supplies of all descriptions, not only ammo, but food, medical, winter clothing, etc. with winter on the way.
They are getting smashed. But there is rather a lot of them; half century of Soviet production. Plus there is a lot of land mines. So Ukraine need more drones and artillery supplies/ guns/ barrels.
And Russian GDP growth of 0.7% this year as well accelerating to 1.4% next year.
I'm sorry some don't like this (I don't 'like' it) but facts are facts.
We can't just ignore them because it's the other side.
If that's the case why aren't they getting smashed then?
Not every offensive is the same.
Then why is this classed as slow? Has Ukraine or any of their allies stated that x km2 must be liberated by Y date? If not, the pace is the pace and you, me or anyone can't do diddly squat about it. It might not fit in with peoples expectations from previous offensives in this war, which again shows that not all offensives are the same. Progress is progress.
Erm the only similarity between this and Barbarossa is that the Russians are still using the same guns 🤣
Then why is sanctions removal always on top of Putin demands when he is trying to blackmail the west? Latest is that he is refusing to allow western banks ( the remaining ones) to leave, unless sanctions are lifted. No matter what Russia is producing at home, its obviously not enough. Nope, the sanctions are hurting Putin, and hurting him very bad.
Every metric. Check out the first month of Barbarossa or Operation Overlord or Gulf War 1 or 2.....on and on. It's so slow that it's delusion people are asking "is it slow?".
Erm yes it's painfully slow. That's being generous.
It has 2 followers, sounds very reliable.
However, I've seen similar growth predictions reported by IMF recently, so the numbers may be from a more "reliable" source.
Why do you keep posting in this thread then?
5 days ago, you already said there was no progress. Why the need to post the same “information” again?
Anyone simply ignoring the giant, absolutely monstrous expanse of minefields; dragon's teeth; pillboxes; artillery aimed squarely at that No Man's Land; exponentially larger army; and the simple geography of the hilly, undulating terrain of the counter offensive is not dealing in facts or being unbiased - but instead starting at a conclusion and working backwards.
Quite a determination to declare one's opinion as that of Absolute Truth, and huffing because others might call out the same brand of búllshit peddled during Brexit & that particular version of misreading reality.
Yeah, but all the tyres are "protecting" a Tu-95 in Engels.
Meanwhile, back in Rostov..
NOELREPORTS 🇪🇺 🇺🇦 on X: "Last night, an explosion in Rostov occurred. In total three loud bangs were reported, probably inflicted by UAVs. https://t.co/PqAEqQXbm8" / X (twitter.com)
They liberated 3000km2 in 6 days in September last year alone.
Show us where you got the 108 figure from?
By what metric is that slow?
They've liberated 108km² of territory since June 5th. 108km².
That's why I have so little to say on Ukraine's offensive because there isn't much to say.
When they start taking town after town, taking several kms a day, then there'll be something to say.
He was booted out of the Brexit forum for posting the same "I hate Brexit but" and pure repetitive fantasy stuff he is doing now with the pretend hatred of Russia that also big Russia up posts.
Have you a source where the planned progress was laid out? Or where are you determining that progress is slow?
It's not bullying to call you out on the continuous scutter you post in this thread. Everything you have posted in the last 18 months on this thread is nonsense which even the talking heads on RT would be embarrassed to spout. No comment on anything you post elsewhere.
@Gregor Samsa What's "1.5% of fúck all?"
2 Ladas?
Stating reality about Ukraine's slow progress in the counter offensive is not the same as "celebrating" it.🙄
I would love Ukraine to smash Russia and win the war ASAP but that would involve me inhabitating the same dream world as others on the thread.
Is allowing Kermit to keep posting actually good for them?
I feel we might have a duty of care responsibility.
I don't have an X account (or a twitter account), but if you click on the profile for that source, it starts out with 'in a world full of deception...' Then X wants me to log in. I think it's a bogus source.
They are moving forward but it is a fact that Ukraine, since June 5th, up until 6 days a go has liberated a total of 108km².
Going to get a more accurate figure on how much land Russia currently occupies but if we go with 36,000km² alone you can see the returns for Ukraine in perspective.
It's unsurprising that it will marginally grow, however considering the country is floating on a sea of natural resources, it should probably be growing a lot more than it is. The sanctions do hurt as we know and their economy still has considerable issues, for example their currency just lost over 2% value.
Since yesterday. With totalitarian capital controls. And a huge interest rate.
Numerous times your posts have e.g. celebrated Ukrainian slow progress (as well as overplayed Russian build ups)
Selection bias with information, which is followed by the victim card when it's pointed out.
I've no issue with it, just highlighting the obvious.
I don't have my calculator handy. What's 1.5% of fúck all?
facts 😂🤣😅😁 unbiased opinion 🤣😂🤣🤪
Yikes.
Russia isn't particularly effective in moving forward, this is generally because their troops are god awful, and their tactics are to either bombard the crap out of an area, or suicide units in, or just yoyo some units forward and back again.
Ukraine on the other hand are actually making progress, gradually, but it's slow-going to the sheer number of mines and defenses, also the battlefield is becoming very overgrown which actually benefits the defenders (Russia), plus other factors.
The current situation isn't a continuation of 2014, it's a massive escalation of it. From proxy war, to full war.
Maybe it grinds right down to a halt, maybe Ukraine keeps creeping forward, maybe something else happens. For now, Ukraine is moving forward, they are also getting through to areas that with less defenses and have less dense minefields.
I can't imagine the morale of the average Russian soldier who knows he'll likely be sent to die in an absurd attack, won't be taken care of properly if injured (even abandoned), might not even get paid, possibly won't be given leave, not to mention will have terrible equipment and equally terrible commanders. Oh and possibly have a freezing winter in a trench to look forward to.
Despite the bullying I'll continue stating facts and giving my unbiased opinion on events. Sorry that hurts you.
