I was thinking it was a silly place to put the bin storage, you'd have a pain in your hole putting the rubbish out
a few times a day. Imagine asking a teenager to put the rubbish in the bins!!! :-)
that's the gas tank behind that
It looks like the houses either side could look out their back windows, or from their garden, and see you on the loo or in the jacuzzi bath. 😂
It is odd that they set it so far back on the site (thus having a bigger front lawn than a back garden), and built right to the edge on both sides. There was plenty of space to have a huge house AND valuable space around it. Maybe it was a planning restriction from the position of a previous house on the site?
But they did solve the bin problem by building an enclosure in the corner of the front garden.
Apologies if this is on here already. In recent weeks it has been reduced from 2.5 million.....
I've been in it a couple of times and it's a beautiful house in a fabulous location. I often thought if I had the money I'd but it. Then I saw this video and now I'm not so sure......
If the sea can do that kind of damage to the sea wall and nearby road you'd have to wonder a) How long will the house be there? and b) How much would it cost to insure? Mind you, I'm sure it's survived many storms over the years and is built on solid rock. I wouldn't sleep soundly in a storm there myself.
The two Waterford homes have lovely detailing and furniture, but the earlier Photoshop furniture will haunt me for a while.
The house and site next door (Tramore) must be worth a fortune.
Having witnessed a BER assessment on my then-apartment I have little faith in the system as a whole.
Yes please! But looks like it is attached to a school or something and no outside space/garden.
Anyone fancy living in a church in Holland?
Actually the garage was on the other side and was replaced by the swimming pool, the dining room on the right (from the front) was added at the same time, sometime between 2004 and 2009
Look at Meeeeeee. Blur it out on Google maps though. Unless you move a couple of yards to either side and its perfectly visible. Sadly. Its an overdone monstrosity, and far too big for the site.
The little house to the left still has a very long back garden, and access from the other end of it.
The cliffs are sound enough on that bit of the coast, they are a bit dodgy and tend to fall down further along towards Annestown.
I wonder how stable the beach/cliff edge is there?
Salt air would eat cars alive there anyway. A garage wouldn’t make much difference. Still not great to have a grey econobox crossover blocking your view though.
i'd get rid of the dining room!!! 😁
Definitely!!!!
First thing I'd do is get rid of the gym to make room for all the bikes.
I’d say that dining room on the left was originally a garage, it could easily be converted to a drive through garage. There’s plenty room in the kitchen dining area.
For comparison, also in Waterford for the same money!!!
It's not rural. Pop the eircode into google maps and look at the satellite view, it's relatively built up.
Looking at the houses around it, it might have been 'out of the town a bit' 30 years ago but its fairly well surrounded now.
But as you said, it just looks wrong
I (haven't a clue) but would have thought that rural houses like that would have to be a certain distance away from the adjoing boundaries... it is built right up to each side and just looks wrong.
Edit: I see there's a walkway on either side... Still looks wrong though. They've hidden it well but the house to the left hand side (when looking face on) is located way forward, you would be able to see that neighbours back garden from the front windows. For 2.9 million, I would get a bit fussy about things like that.
Don't get me wrong, it is a gorgeous looking house, and if someone handed me the keys today i'd be well grateful...
But i wouldn't pay nearly 3 mill for it
A push bike & bins would get up the side access easily, but if the owners had left one of the sides empty with space to drive a car up there and keep the cars there at the back of the house instead of out the front spoiling the view it would've been a better use of the space in my opinion
Crikey, I never thought of that or noticed no garage. No room to get the bike up the side of the house either!!!
The house it too big for the plot of land. If I'm paying 2.9 million for a house id want at least a garage to store my motorbike.
Stunning house, site and views but you would want to be seriously into tennis to have that court there instead of
a nice garden/lawn. Each to their own I suppose.
That's beautiful
This is some mansion
Pretty much 😀
Oh I know the green, I'm in Galway and they have a fascinating predilection towards it, 😂 but it's still badly grotty in parts.
You be at it a while. The green on the roof/ top edge is from aged copper similar to an old church steeple.
I say it was designed by an architect. They probably had a record and were able to prove the insulation levels and the quality of the windows that went in at the time. Bear's are a waste of time on older houses as unless you have receipts for any work done you or higher standards when build you will get no credit for it
Would Ronald Reagan have been in the village?
I'm not a millions away either.
Would make a great wedding venue when you look at it. Very romantic and rooms on site.
