Her level of intoxication is immaterial, fully sober she was probably more lethal behind the wheel, a clear determination to use 2 US tonnes of metal as a weapon.

Only last Sunday the grandmother had to call the authorities to help her as Ta Kiya was closing in on the family.
She obviously wasn't a decent person, or a safe person to be around for her Grandmother or kids yet one can think that her last act, suicide by cop, was driven by the knowledge that the only protection order capable of protecting her family from her was the lethal one.

The photo CNN have for the story is her car, the policeman man hand on bonnet, gun drawing. Even overhead pointed out how far the car travelled after the threat was ended, the accelerator was being worked hard.
