Another senseless shooting that led to a young black woman being killed, along with her unborn child. Two surviving children left without a mother. Going by the bodycam footage, she looks terrified. Nobody deserves to lose their life over such a trivial incident.

I think I might have answered my own question about why the vehicle wasn’t accelerating - it was likely still in neutral, not drive.
Dunno if it was in N or D (probably the latter) but I don't think her foot was anywhere near the accelerator when he blew her head off or it likely would have kept pushing into the floor and sending the car slamming into a wall. She wasn't trying to kill anybody though or peel out.

Absolutely agree with don’t step in front of the car, she was already steering to avoid him while trying to drive off, and he had to move to get in front of the car, he was only lucky he wasn’t run over.
Not sure the car would have kept going though, even injuring her she would have likely stopped with the shock. As it was the car didn’t appear to be accelerating, and once she was shot it appears one of the officers tried to guide the car off to the side after smashing the window.

She wasn’t being arrested when did they say she was under arrest? She was being detained.

Had he shot her the car would still be driving just 100% out of control and into traffic.

Nah Gatling, I don’t agree that simple non-compliance justifies killing another human being. The officers involved had a much greater responsibility in that situation than the girl who had no authority and no training to handle a situation like that. The officers had, but when it came to a real-life situation where they had to put the theory into practice, it’s understandable that they made a complete balls of it and had no control over an escalating situation.
It’s trite for me to be able to say it, not being in that situation and all, but I’m not fond of attributing to malice what can be explained by incompetence. I don’t know that cops are trigger happy, I do know that they can often find themselves in situations where they fall back to reacting instinctively rather than relying on their training. Being armed in those circumstances is unlikely to end well for anyone.
