Longford Town seems to have got a bit of reputation for being a bit rough. The trouble is all caused by a few families/individuals probably.
The probably with an apartment like that could be you'd be stuck in the middle of them.
You'd have to do your research.
Keeping yourself to yourself is great.However it's easier to do if your neigbhours aren't yelling at one another at 2am.
Wierd one alright, was a massage parlour;
Blackrock Massage with Renata Avendano
55 Rock Rd, Intake, Blackrock, Co. Dublin, Ireland.
Might be a problem with the title, according to Google maps number 55 doesn't exist;
If you put the eircode into Land Direct search it comes up with a pointer aimed at 57 but describing it as 55. The house two doors up has 61 on its door on google streetview.
Presumably that Seafort Parade that stands end-on to Rock road and is numbered 1 to 4 was originally 55 so the advertised house should be 57 but has been historically known as 55.
Comedian Mike Harding selling his Connemara bolt hole....
.
I laughed at “… refurbished and renovated to a high standard circa 25 years ago”.
It looks like there was a fire at the back of the Aga or the flue has not been sealed properly for a long time. The yellowish paint reminds me of the nicotine stained walls of a pub pre smoking ban. The recessed down lights in the kitchen have a surface mounted switch beside each light!
Some trickery going on here, Spot the Differences!
Its stained glass, not stain glass, but I like the round-ended house. The aga in the cottage definitely needs some attention! The sunsets are spectacular.
2 Bed, 1 Bath, Detached, but with a difference
I felt a cold shiver run through me just looking at those pics. It looks bloody freezing 🥶. Very little windows also making it very dark. The leccy bill would be huge to live in that.
Some American will come along and buy it though.
I think they have done a very nice job of restoring it, a few colourful wall hangings wouldn't go amiss but they have found a good balance between liveable and keeping the original vibe. I suspect the interior walls (and probably the exterior walls) would have been originally plastered.
It does look a bit like spider central. Then again, so is my house which was only built 25 years ago!
I'd say that castle would be so dark. I would have depression within a week of living in it.
Looks cool though
It looks like something from Grand Designs. Wasn't there an episode with an Irish guy renovating a castle but he eventually ran out of money?
Thought the same. 10 year old me would love it for the novelty but constantly having lights on would quickly annoy me.
Yes, Cloontykilla castle;
I can smell the damp in that place from here.
What the hell is this room meant to be - a bedroom, kitchen or what the hell. There is a bed beside the kettle, microwave etc and a dining table. Do they sleep, cook and eat here because its the only room with natural light ( and probably adds a bit of heat).
These people are selling a dream, not a house
This could be lovely!
The Georgian window panels are overly fussy as well. The ceilings will be very low. The hallway up stairs is impractical. Basically they are looking for 165k for cleaning out an old house shell
The bed looks like a “Day bed”.
I’d worry a lot about that glass roof. Unless it was very well designed and executed (which of courseit may be) that room could be a sweat box in summer as it magnified the sun’s rays and a fridge in winter as it sits covered in snow and ice.
Featured in todays Irish Times. Outside is straight from Bungalow Bliss. But look how they have transformed the interior. And B3 BER too. €450k.
Someone has done a horrible job of rebuilding the top of the outside wall, and what happens to the windows inside, fixed with angles, how can they be finished?
Going to show my ignorance....what's the ring thing in the field behind it?
Lovely house!
I wondered the same. Given its proximity to Newgrange and Knowth my first thought was that somebody was starting construction of another Neolithic passage tomb !! But I actually think it’s a canter track for exercising horses.
It's a training tack for horses.
Some nice furniture in the house and some nice features, but a lot of it is lower budget stuff from B&Q and Woodies. Also on a very busy road and the stud next door can have trucks going at all hours. The price reflects the location more than anything else.
Decent enough BER for a building of its age and size.
Big walk in wardrobe next to the bathroom in the master bedroom, they should have put in an ensuite.
Ooh, I may be controversial now, but I have no love for ensuites, give me a walk in closet anyday! 😍
When does a walk-in closet become a dressing room?
I don't know, but I'd love to have the room/money to find out! 😁
