this is nearly bangernomics
@RINO87 looks quality
Not bangernomics at all at all....but seeing as we were mentioning Saabs and cheap power....this is what I picked up. 250bhp for well under the 3k limit.
Yep, reliability was their main feature 😊. Don't forget your stash of taillight bulbs as there's always one blown😉. I've driven several over the years and not a sniff of the 40s ever... The 09 facelift with the nicer headlights and very economical to run😆 led taillights was the best model.
I had one myself and my mpg around west cork was 40mpg. Not incredible diesel range but at the same token no nasty DPF to deal with. Ran like a dream.
OK ok im not saying your wrong - i see your point and won't argue against it. BUT "there's always a but 😂" it is a lot cheaper on tax at €400 a year compared to the 07 and older avensis at €710 a year..
Also "there's sometimes an also 🤣" I remember reading a statistic years ago that in Dublin 7/10 taxis were that model diesel avensis..
I had an 08 avensis for a short time doing city driving and I'd agree with you mpg was not a strong point
Ha ha, it's neither low tax or very good on diesel😊, great cars in fairness but economy isn't their thing.
I've seen it about 6 times in the last week alone 😂😂.. Surely they know the registration is on the discs "maybe not"
Always makes me laugh that hiding the number plate then showing nct or tax disc.
i never like adds that hides then number plate anyway, i move on too next add.
One my favourite games looking for the reg on the discs when hidden on the reg 😂.. It passed the nct anyway 08d74790

I'm picking up something tonight as it happens! Not quite bangernomics as I'll need an exhaust for the next test, but comes in under 3k.
Missed out on that V70 ocean race. Just couldn't make it to Dublin.
this
Did you buy anything
Drove this last week! Very quick car!! Absolute bargain for its new owner. I had a look at that 95 Dame wagon in Dun Laoire too, that one I'm afraid not so much. Bodywork rough in person and it's been off the road a few years.
This is also a great shoutout
Saab 93 for €2,600.

Few points why this could be a great buy for that money:
Definition of trouble free motoring tbh.
That's the future it seems. My worry has always been about driving a car that had a 30 year old safety rating.
But it's hard to argue against a second car costing 200quid for insurance and 70 quid to tax a year!
Two VW diesels that might suit long commutes. Long NCT's on both. They should both polish up well and don't look too bad sat on your driveway.
2005, 08/24, old tax of €680 p.a. No word of mileage, I expect it to be astronomical. Needs an interior clean. Terrible photos won't attract as many callers.
€1900

More poke for your buck. 2008 TDi. 10/24, €2,800. Nice enough place to sit if it's all working. 6 speed is easier on the motorway, great economy, 188t miles. well specced UK import, but needs a car check.
€2,950, down from €3,350 so room for haggling I think.

Lovely!
I actually seen this carina at the shops earlier. Worth a mention for how well it looked. Had all the extras id like
Ah crap I missed that.
Engine light flashing but seller says its an easy fix. Hmmm.
Low mileage Panda with fresh test, well under budget as well.

Cleanest one I've seen on DoneDeal in a while
A tad overpriced I reckon but looks okay. Nice to see an automatic petrol Jap import instead of a 1.9 TDI

Edit. Loads of tax and test anyway
Thanks to You Im in contact with the Saab guy, have nice 93 Aero 250bhp, im so tempted 😎 Only problem now would be fighting with my wife who drives what.
Don't forget if you are looking for more power, even to get a second hand turbo fitted etc, it would be around €300 and your standard 150hp,now running 220hp would also jump to 250hp with that turbo.
They are very plug and play - surprisingly for a Saab.
