I stumbled across this on Youtube.
This roll of film was found in a second hand jacket.
Baby name appears to be Brendan.
Does you know anybody in the photos, the church, etc?
I'm getting more pathetic I know.
I don't recognise anyone but what uniform is granddad wearing. Seems like a police or other state service
Group 4 is a contractor that does security. They're english but probably operated in Ireland as well.
Group 4 were definitely in Ireland back then because a neighbour of mine worked for them (and he's long dead). They're called G4S nowadays, I think.
Yeah they were in Ireland for a while. They made the news a few times because prisoners kept escaping from their custody.
I didn't think private security ever did prisoner escorts, no? They definitely did cash-in-transit and had a couple of tiger kidnappings alright (including my next door neighbour's family).
They look English, the people I mean.
That was lovely!
double post
I wonder if it's an Anglican or Church of Ireland? I saw a cross in a photo but no crucifix as far as I could see.
OK, it seems they didn't do prisioner transfers in Ireland. They did in Britain, there were a few high profile cases of prisioners escaping, thats what I was thinking of.

When I look at it in the brightlight of day. I'd agree with you.
I felt all emotional watching that at 3am.
Anytime I got a roll of 35 mm film developed, the photos were all the same size yet they are various different sizes in that album. Is there something funny going on here.
It's probably from one of those cameras that came out just prior to digital. Not sure what they were called but they allowed you to change the size of the photo, panorama etc. I had one I'd say circa that same time.
The music makes it I think - a group called Loving Caliber - from Sweden I see.
APS. Pointless attempt to lock down the printing facilities.
It make it something, alright!! 😶
The FreeBMD project has 322 million civil birth, death and marriage records up to 1998 for England and Wales but births only go up to about 1992. In a few years' time if they continue to add birth records, it may be possible to trace Brendans who were born around August 1998.
They have that look about them, alright.
Far too fancy for Anglican or Church of Ireland, I'd guess Roman Catholic. It's looks rural. While they look English (I'd say Northerners too) is there many rural Catholic churches in the UK?
High Anglican churches are just as fancy as RC. There are both COE and COI bells'n'smells High Anglican parishes.
I'd say the name implies Catholic more than the church!
Oh the local CoI church is fancy , but it looked like a Catholic priest . I’ve never seen a reverend with a dog collar like that . They’re always full collars . Definitely a RC priest .
That looks like my old priest Fr Michael O'Flatley.
Wasn't he the dancing priest from Fr Ted
No, that was Father Liam Finnegan.
