You'd have to imagine Putin has prepared for that possibility. Cut the head of the more organised Prigozhin supporting officer class and you'll quickly quell any talk of rebellion.

This is what I am wondering. Has this put a higher price on Putin's head. Could we see some senior wagner people offering their service to Ukrainian intelligence. Was it not Russian forces who did this, unmarked. It was Prigozhin who called the whole thing a sham, so essentially the person who shot MH17 down is potentially the one who shot him down.
For all we know this is all engineered and this man is off with a fine wealth to live in peace somewhere.

I had thought they were Russian soldiers off the books, sold to the world as "Donbass separatists". This was essentially the beginning of the invasion and orhestrated as a separatist movement from within but the influence was from outside. I think it was the Russians who accidently shot down MH-17 due to sheer incompetence, but I'm open to correction.

What a fecking idiot Prigozhin was. To believe that Putin would not want him out if the way. He was the biggest threat to Putin since he got rid of Nilvany. If course Putin was going to have him taking out.
At the end of the day he attempted a coup and, for some reason (maybe a full moon was in the offing?), decided to stop the coup in an advantageous position with no apparent operational rationale to do so.
He must have known he was a dead man walking with that decision. Should have gone all the way.
