I have to disagree. 'New talent' implies there currently is talent there.
The only one I can even remember was when he screwed up an interview with Jamie Lee O'Donnell. She even tried to let him off with it by launching into an anecdote, but he kept on at it. A complete tool of a man and an unbelievable organisation that put a man who has only a passing notion of what an interview is in charge of the Big Interviewing People TV Show.
I do not believe that Bakhurst has yet got rid of him, I believe that he may be waiting to see how some things play out. The €150k Tubs owes rte, the possibility of a legal case from NK should not bother him too much unless there is much that NK could mention in court much of which would go both ways, Tubs bringing a case would damage Tubs too much. This seems to be Bakhurst letting NK know who is in charge now. Time will tell if he is capable of proving it. If rte are willing to go to court, NK could come out a lot worse for wear while rte could still rebuild battered and bruised. We might see Tubs back in the new year. Possibly earlier. I think there is a lot more to still play out. NK could find out how unwanted he is in rte and which clients will stick with him.

3 months down the line and RT is still looking for work should be the time all the highly paid workers are told go feck off (end of contract) - no reason for any contractor working full time for RTE and let some new talent on to the airwaves
But then I think about it and the new talent, RTE tried to introduce, are all pretty useless - think back to the new guy and gall on Prime Time and they were beyond terrible (think the guy was never seen again after a major cock up). RTE have no comprehension of grooming new talent with some easy gigs and see how you do

That statement with Tubs trying to rewrite history was so so unnecessary. There was absolutely no need for it. It beggars belief that he did it. He called the RTE Board liars in one sentence. He might regret that for decades. His 'team' have already tried to rephrase the statement but he knew what he was doing. Those statements are prepared and proof read many times. His fans must be incredulous that he would scuttle himself like that. Utterly needless. He essentially got his job back but couldn't resist a little swipe at the RTE Board. What might have been....
It is frustrating when you think about Dee Forbes with the begging bowl looking for money to finance her office redecorating and other stuff, I'm not surprised she's off sick, I'd be mortified having to come before the committee and account for this waste of money.

Bang on ! Virgin stands on its own and delivers broadly the same content as RTE , Rte had an edge on current affairs but Virgins 10 o clock show is as good ! I don't see the value in paying 160 a year for broadly the same content 🤔

It's irrelevant as well. I could make millions for my employer but I'm only worth paying the amount someone else would do for the same performance level. If someone equally good was willing to do it for buttons, then buttons is the salary - the market rate.
RTEs problem is the culture. It wanted to be the big dog in the small market. It wanted to be the place to be and that's led to the inflated salaries well above the market. This happens in organisations with no accountability.
According to the radio today, the new LLS will be shorter but with the same number of ad breaks at €12,000 a slot. Kielty will bring in the exact same income and so would any other presenter. It's prime time not prime presenter.
Why do some people keep going on about how much advertisement Ryan T brings in? It's not Ryan that brought in the advertisement, whoever is in a prime time slot on TV is going to attract viewers and advertisers. Let's see how many millions Patrick Kiltey will bring in.

Larry Bass shouldn't have been on the news complaining. All he did was produce the worst garbage known to man and run the station further into the ground making people not want to pay the licence. He was part of the problem. The worst reality TV drivel he copied and put it on over here. The stuff that anyone with a brain would want to switch off immediately. If RTE want to sink the station even further and further then putting jackasses like him on whining is going to do it. People are fed up listening to that crap and that's going to enrage them further.

This typical Irish trait of a selective memory and zero accountability needs addressing, garnish salaries & pension benefits would ensure cooperation!
I have been saying that all along. There are lots of people both inside and outside of RTE who are happy Dee is too sick to attend any PAC meetings. I bet Noel Curran might also have some interesting stories to tell if he ever appeared too.
RTE clearly feel that getting rid of Tubs closes the door on the whole debacle. No need for anyone to investigate anything else. This will be old news in 2 weeks time and they can continue as before, wasting money on themselves.
