Not a good look. I wonder did he go because this was going to come to light?

Maybe Ryan should be “pay-per-view, pay-per-listen” “content”, see how popular he is with his fan base.
Mike Murphy, who made his first ever TV appearance with me (I kid you not!) had a variety show where he did his candid camera skits, a bit of chat, a bit of singing, and guest cabaret acts. Ryan quite obviously attended formal voice and movement training, going by the improvement in his vocals and stage movement along the years, in theory he could do a similar type show, but would it go down? Mike had an awful lot of intelligence and understanding of an audience, which Ryan lacks, though he can have a smooth performing style, there’s too much of “it’s about me” rather than coming across as “about you the viewers”.
So in the end, much ado about nothing. Tubridy will be on air getting astronomical money for 10 hours a week. no doubt RTE will also find an extra vehicle for his amazing and unique talents. the gravy boat has just got a refill. what a country.
Should be, but wont because his fanbase dont have paypal or know how to get one.
It is funny to see all this discussion of C-Suites and rapidly aging nephews on high salaries. Recent events have exposed what many people suspected about RTE and its "talent" for years: it is overpaid and stuffed with mediocrity in a skewed market that is supported by licence payers and tax payers.
The PAC and Media committee want the board of RTE back before them. Hopefully, they will get Forbes and Jennings to appear.
Tubridy will have a few fans, paid or otherwise. However, his brand is toxic. RTE staff are not pleased and that anger could result in industrial action.
If Tubridy is so eager to reappear on RTE then let him pay for his researchers, assistants and other members of his entourage. The old contract, which Tubridy broke by no longer presenting the LLS, is terminated. If he's an external contractor then RTE should not be paying for much of his staff, apart from those directly involved in the transmission, and RTE should either deduct the hours worked by RTE staff from his fee or invoice Tubridy's company directly.
As for Bakhurst, he doesn't seem to be quite the new DG that RTE needs.

I wonderf if that's the end of the RTE whitewashing or will there be more tomorrow?
Maybe there could be an eye phone app with in-app purchases, options: 1 subscribe to listen to Ryan €50 per year, 2 subscribe to watch Ryan €70 per year. Bargain combo €100 per year. Auto renews.
10 hours a week?
NO chance for Tubridy....
It will be less than 5 hours per week with about 4 months holidays....
So it is all a….
Of course people are taking advantage of the likes of RTE and BOI.
These companies are brain dead.
O'Keefe is lying and hiding stuff. I guarantee you that.
Ah it's a nephew this time. What does he do? Let me guess, he runs Handsome Nothing Burger. 😉
A quick back of envelope calculation, if Tubs returns to radio on 200k, he'll be on close to €1000 per hour that he's on air.
And don't say he probably works about 4 or 5 hrs with prep etc , as anyone who has listened to his show knows he doesn't prep.
Ryan’s Return will be like Enoch’s Eternity, met with obstacles and notoriety.
Too early to decide that and more facts are needed. There did seem to be an argument over blame.
Maybe the family business is in the culinary industry, Waffles Without
Bingo-I don't know why people are even engaging.
When might the 2 Oireachtas committees resume? I doubt we will ever see Forbes or Jennings or O'Keefe or O'Leary ever again.
gosh I hope he does not get back on air - surely there is better talent there..
i smell a "clothes shop"
The human mind is always tricked into such a phenomenon that a leopard has the capacity to change its spots.
They could always bring back The Den with himself on it, he loves entertaining children, and for a Christmas special he could once again become The Toyman.
Not sure. The Dail is due back on 20th of September so it may be after that.
Leo says KB has made a great start in his new role.
The fact that Leo had to come out and say that tells you all you need to know.
A great start! Well he did have a good holdiay I'm sure, which he took right at the start of his tenure, when the company was in one of its worst crises ever. Perhaps that's what Leo is talking about?
The elites do look after themselves don't they? It's all just one big boys, and girls, club at the top isn't it? Looking down and laughing at Joe Public.

nearly two months have passed and we have a wait and see, we’ll we waited and we saw!!!
I don’t agree RTe can be reformed, it is dead. You are flogging a dead donkey!!
The fees for licensing and access to the transmission network (our asset) has stifled choice.
Every licence fee payer should be applying pressure to their local minister to sack Bakhurst and close RTE
All terrestrial old school TV companies are heading the same way - into obscurity, reason for so many streaming services but then they have the problem of too many paid for services to get the programs you want
It's why RTE should stop pretending it can be as good as Netflix, will never come close and should be a purely PSB channel only
That's about par for the course for these chancers it seems...because they're worth it?
I didn't do Tubridy's figs before because his radio figs were not separate
