Thank fck someone here is still speaking sense - ^^^^^- this exactly -so unless you don’t get your payments through your bank account where you’ve just withdrawn money that’s not yours or can somehow amend the payment method over the coming days, you’re totally feiced until the money you took tonight from an atm that you didn’t have in the first place is paid back - 🤪🤪🤪🤪😛😛🤪

I collect my dole in the post office, I havnt used my bank account in nearly 2 years, luckily it was still active. I got 2500e tonight that no amount of treatening letters is going to make me pay back. FREE MONEY

Basically what will happen is once the systems inevitably come back online again, all those transactions will be posted.
Those systems have multiple backups and the transactions are being logged, they’re just not posting.
Accounts will be in unauthorised overdraft, which incurs big fees and interest.
If you don’t clear that very fast the bank will eventually move to close your account and the debts will be sold to a collections agency.
It’s also potentially fraud if you’re aware that you are withdrawing money you have no right to use.
Bank of Ireland seem to have really problematic IT systems though.

Theme seems to be it will only be people on the dole that will have done it. There’s a coke epidemic in the country they’ll be a lot more than people on the dole doing it. Big weekend ahead for the drug dealers. They’ll increase the price no doubt.

As someone said earlier another reason to shut down the ATM's and also have the police about is to deter professional scammers.
Not the first time this has happened to BOI, back in 2010 Restrictions were placed on accounts until sorted.
