I don't think the people at the atms have much to lose otherwise they might have used a couple of brain cells and not robbed the money.
I'd love to see the report which BoI will have to submit to the Central Bank on this complete and utter disaster.

Some people claiming they went to more than one ATM and withdrew thousands overall.

Isn’t there a Daily Cash withdrawal max limit? Going to a different ATM wouldn’t matter I would have thought?
They'll just reverse the transfer, and you'll owe your current bank, seems even easier for BOI.
I see their twitter account is under siege tonight. People on holiday saying their cards are being declined in restaurants etc as well as not being to withdraw cash from ATMs. What a f**k up this is. And what will happen to BoI? Naff all. Just a slap on the wrist from the (ir)relevant toothless regulator.

All sounds like more hassle than it's worth. I'm glad I didn't go out now.
BOI saying all money withdrawn will be debited from accounts. A lot of the individuals who took money could be facing serious headaches the next time they see their accounts.
The hassle of opening a new account, changing direct debits etc. Most will just leave it as is, unless this becomes protracted and goes on for days. I'd expect it to be resolved by late morning (latest).

Disgraceful to see gardai minding ATMs, while people who actually require Gardai have to wait. BOI should be able to close down their ATMs remotely or bi wifi.
