Large queues at Bank of Ireland ATMs this evening.

I see their twitter account is under siege tonight. People on holiday saying their cards are being declined in restaurants etc as well as not being to withdraw cash from ATMs. What a f**k up this is. And what will happen to BoI? Naff all. Just a slap on the wrist from the (ir)relevant toothless regulator.
They'll just reverse the transfer, and you'll owe your current bank, seems even easier for BOI.
Isn’t there a Daily Cash withdrawal max limit? Going to a different ATM wouldn’t matter I would have thought?
You chicken McFly?
As much as I hate certain parts of town st night, I think tonight could have an extra edge with scrotes thinking you could be walking around with wads of cash!
Where did you see that.
Don't think that's how it works but I could be wrong.
Yeah the limits failed
Some people claiming they went to more than one ATM and withdrew thousands overall.
Surely the ATMs are empty at this stage?
correct
If you have auto payments going INTO your account:
Current Balance: minus 1000
Payment in: 250
New current balance: minus 750
It's finally happening.
Again.
So all the Irish with old accounts who moved abroad and also all the Eastern Europeans who went home can all fill their boots tonight
this will cost them a few quid that they will never get back by the morning
I'd love to see the report which BoI will have to submit to the Central Bank on this complete and utter disaster.
Yep theft. Plain and simple.
I don't think the people at the atms have much to lose otherwise they might have used a couple of brain cells and not robbed the money.
Some days from now 😀
Because people were using online access and the app to transfer €1,000 they didn’t have into their Revolut accounts. It’s not just an issue at the ATMs.
Because it amounts to theft or fraud when a person obtains money by unauthorised means.

If you’re receiving funds you’re not entitled to, it’s theft.
They won’t be charged with anything but the accounts will be overdrawn.
Some will try and change their transfers over to their revolut or a different account, or claim their account was hacked(which is iffy if they catch you withdrawing on CCTV).
Some will legitimately think they’ve got one over on the bank and will be furious when they realise they still have to pay it.
For most it will probably end up being more hassle than they were expecting at the very least.
Are you sure about that?
You're account will just go into the minus, if your paid JSA/benefits into your account you won't see a penny for the next month, the bank would only enter discussions for a payment plan if they closed your account.
Online had its own issues throughout the day today
Got a weekly standing order for my rent and a payment inwards due at 12:01am the app is a blank white page currently l really hope this is sorted over night wonder what caused this to happen.
I remember a similar situation around 2010 where there was a glitch on the atms and people withdrew nonexisting funds this will be chaos for a few days for BOI account holders.
They might have to accept payment plans like that.
Getting caught doesnt stop it being a crime. The fuckwits queuing up thought they were getting away with one. Why bother otherwise? Granted there'll have been punters among them who were just heading to get some cash anyway.
Panic mode presumably
Why have they shut down online access? ATMs maybe if there is a fault, but cant even view if pay has gone into account
I never carry cash and I won't be a grand overdrawn plus charges tomorrow.
The absolute scenes when these people realise BOI will just put their account in the negative and not take a 15 euro a week payment plan....
The above is a screenshot of the app opened atm 🤣
With the amount of people involved nobody will be getting in trouble but all have to pay it back....although a lot of it wont be returned and debt likely be sold to debt collectors at 20% face value in a year
Worst bank in Ireland.
Good question. All they will get is mental queues. I use the bank occasionally to get small coin. There's never anybody there except the odd dinosaur insisting on using the counter for stuff that's much easier online.
If this isn't sorted by 9am an awful lot of people will be in to do transactions manually as they can't do it online.
