Irish hoteliers and others are back blaming the bad weather for their fall in custom, and not their own prices or charges.
What are your own experiences of excessive prices being charged in Ireland relative to the rest of the EU?
Not looking very hard are you?
Along with a nice link https://www.loveholidays.ie/sem/lloret-de-mar.html
Something tells me you are not really looking for a four star hotel away.
I'd love you to show me a Dublin 4 star hotel for 4 nights 8th-12th sept in the city for €760 incl all taxes and breakfast.
It doesn't exist.
Dublin and cork hotels are overpriced.
Nope. 1.46 million.
Green Isle: 617
Louis Fitzgerald: 667
Address Citywest: 743
All include Breakfast. That's from Hotels.com
Again have a great holiday but you can get value in Ireland if you look around.
Munich - 3rd week of September.
My guess is you haven't checked the events guide. It's octoberfest, and the main event is the 3rd week of September, specifically 19th - 24th.
To compare like to like you need to check mid march 2024 in Dublin for st Patrick's festival. €349 is the BEST price for any night from 14th - 21st March excluding breakfast. Most are in excess of €400 per night.
Sorry, but this is one argument you cannot win
I looked around found value in Dublin City centre 2 adults 3 nights breakfast included.
Never knew the city centre had moved to Newlands cross.
The Henley is 1km from centre of DC. Walking distance to everything.
Newlands cross is 12km away. If I was happy with a hotel 12km outside DC I'd get it for under $400.
I just checked Eurostars Palace in Cordoba which is a five star hotel I stayed in a few years ago. €723 for seven nights next week for two people. Granted breakfast not included but why would you with so many great little bars/cafe's on your doorstep serving superb Spanish food.
Cannot agree with your sarcastic comment about Newlands Cross not being city centre it's less than a second from the city centre by Face Time.
You asked for the city. They are in Dublin City.
For me, next June €2,400 which includes breakfast
What are the name of the streets they are on?
If you want to book them you can use hotels.com. If struggling to find them I suggest using google maps. Very good at finding locations.
Well done you found a cheap hotel.
Not sure what the point of this post is? maybe you could explain. Quick tips on cheap hotels. You should always check a website called Trip Advisor. Excellent and I highly recommend
I don't know what you are doing - maybe try Incognito mode. Same five star, June 3rd to 10th and no "genius" discount applied (8% on booking dot com so omitting those results). Demand could be higher then as there might be a fiesta on but €1,000 cheaper than you are finding.
I need two rooms. Pesky children
I think one room is what you really need.
Edit you would get that much cheeper overseas too.
Am I picking you up right? Are you saying The Address in Citywest is in Dublin City?
Keep searching and you'll find a bargain.
You're obviously just not very good at searching.
I searched 4 star hotels, with a rating from travellers of over 8, breakfast included, and swimming pool for one week in June next year, pages of results, under 1k for a week.
Try lots of search engines, then try the hotel website itself, they are usually cheaper if you get onto them.
Don't think searching is something he can manage he was asked about Dublin city hotels and he mentioned Citywest.
Edit
This is the type of hotel and for the stay we are looking at its 1800 and then 2100 for half board.
Anything else in this range is similar or more.
You can get a pesky promo code as well if you sign up for that hotel and I think I get 10% off but I haven't included that as I know you don't want to get bombarded with emails.

Oh I am and I probably will.
The point here is you can get bargains in Ireland as well but it takes time and monitoring prices
I am not a keyboard warrior and like you I am not really taken this discussion serious.
The whole thread is just a bit of fun.
Ireland does not represent value for money in the hospitality sector we all know that including you.
I would describe the back and fourth with you as a bit of friendly banter I am not being 100% serious with you and we all know there is no way you can be serious.
Edit find a decent hotel away take the family and forget Ireland for a while.
That's what I do.
Theres a difference in signing up to a hotel and signing up to pigsback🙄
Not really. Both will spam and both can be stopped with one email
@ZookeeperDub - Two people now have asked you why you picked the middle of Oktoberfest dates for the price comparison and you ignored them.
Why did you choose those dates?
For myself, I was going to head to Cork for a nice weekend away but the prices were silly.
Figured I'd just drive down in the morning (about a 2.5 hr spin), have a day out and drive back, use that money elsewhere.
Ireland is tiny and we forget about that sometimes. An Aussie or American wouldn't think twice about driving for a few hours to get somewhere.
I just picked dates in middle of September because the discussion previous was September all along when discussing proposed dates.
I had no idea it was Oktoberfest and this was only mentioned today
From what I seen it was one poster, who so far has jumped all over the thread ranting and raving yet adding nothing of value.
It's pathetic carry on and I gave up responding to the childish carry on, which is going on days now. If some sado wants to attack someone online then let them off, why should I respond to them?
Nah that's fair enough, just funny that you landed on those dates :D
Pure coincidence and sorry but I though Oktoberfest was in October. So it never even considered those dates would be during it.
