Irish hoteliers and others are back blaming the bad weather for their fall in custom, and not their own prices or charges.
What are your own experiences of excessive prices being charged in Ireland relative to the rest of the EU?
dont worry, the Greens will soon jack up the price of air travel.
Why oh why are we not going down the nuclear power route. Wind farms instead with a shelf life and no power when there is no wind like today.
Hardly a guess when I already posted it the information
It seems a lot of people struggle to use hotel websites and find deals. That's not a problem with the hotels or with the staff.
If you are struggling to use the internet etc then a course like the below can be an excellent way to figure out how to use the internet. Highly recommend it

I fancied a few nights away midweek in April this year. Didn't really mind where, so checked hotels, the only hotel I could get for less them 500 euro for 3 nights, was in swinford, Mayo.
So I went to Spain for 4 nights, flights less then 100, lovely hotel with fabulous buffet breakfast was 260 for 4 nights. Bus to and from airport, 2 euro.
I don't know how anyone with kids holidays in this country
Yep, I think the govt know AirBnB is needed to make these kind of events viable.
Although, Dublin has a new hotel opening every 3 months or so. And they are plenty full and I am not talking the refugee places.
Motel One recently opened next to Arnotts. 310 beds.
Leinster hotel at Merrion Square and Premier inn in the Liberties due by September/October.
2 big hotels under construction around Henry street in town as well.
It's interesting, no matter what the topic is, someone always has to drag in the Green Party :-) Baffling such a small party gets such coverage
It's impossible and with the weather, it's pointless trying to even arrange a weeks holiday here.
Firstly......"You used a different website to me" - doesn't matter, that price is still available on those dates, is it not? You still cherrypicked a 2-star hotel or one that's fcukin miles away and compared them to a high-end hotel in Munich, did you not? You cherrypicked your data and then started bitching about others cherrypicking their data. AKA fraudulent behaviour.
You also never stated which website this was (at the same time you were being deliberately deceptive of the dates you were using), so how is anyone supposed to compare like with like? More fraudulent behaviour.
You also, I just noticed, picked a Sunday night into a Monday morning. Probably the slowest night of the week in the entire industry. No wonder your comparison looks favourable, when comparing a bustling metropolitan area with fcukin' Bray and Navan. Another deception on your behalf.
You posted images - yep, you sure did. Twice. Without showing dates (or websites) in any of them, until you were taken to task about it....also fraudulent.
"I said another person....." - nope. " You said "I couldnt be arsed to mess around with images/prices etc." immediately after you'd been called out for your blatant hypocrisy and pulling the wool over people's eyes. We can give you the benefit of the doubt on this one, but your actions are commensurate with someone who has been called out on something and now 'couldn't be bothered" when they were clearly bothered enough when they thought they were winning.
For anyone keeping score, you have not defended your initial choice of hotels, their quality, their distance to the city centre, and the raft of cheaper options that have been shown to be available elsewhere. You're now throwing your toys out of the pram and pre-emptively accusing others of reporting your posts, like a bleeding 4 year old.
The cheek then to call someone a fraud
You're an absolute charlatan of the highest order. The neck of you to decry others for doing that which you are so swiftly and enthusiastically guilty of yourself, it's quite astonishing.
Different website have different deals with hotel. Hence why you always use different website. I expect you have fact checked on the website and instead of admitting how you lied this rant was the response.
Disgusting carry on from some people when trying to have a decent debate.
P.S. I picked the 6-7th of September. That would be a Wednesday night to Thursday. You haven't even the f**king day right. 🙄👨💻🤦♂️
Yes, of course they do. Why didn't you check other websites to see what the best deal was?
And why didn't you tell us which website it was, if you're going to use "different sites" as a reason for deliberately misleading people. I mean, you still haven't said which site you used, unless I missed it.
And why did you pick the plush central Munich city hotel and compare it with a random rural Irish hotel on a Sunday night?
Becauseyyou wanted to tell a story. Now you've been found out and you're still digging. You're also trying to claim that you're attempting to have an honest debate. Laughable.
Fraud.
Glashaus tallaght is a good spot in Dublin
€500 for 3 nights in Swinford......😂
Has got to be a joke!
You don't even have the day right. 😂
Best of luck to you,
And that's not bad for Ireland!
1300 for 7 nights in midtown nyc.
Shows how over priced we are.
And NYC has gone to the dogs price wise. Everything gone crazy expensive there.
Cheers. Eas looking forward to my honeymoon
Expect to pay 10 dollars a pint. . . . . . And that's before tip.
It's gone mad.
Yes, I got the wrong day of the week, due to more to your dishonesty.
You initially said "I typed in on a website hotel in Munich for 1 night next week". Turns out it wasn't for next week, it's for a month from now.
I checked what day the 6th was, and that's a Sunday (in August).
Now you're changing your story when asked to show your workings and, surprise surprise, you were being an even bigger fraud.
And once again, no attempt to explain the dishonesty, no effort to show your workings, still no mention of what website you used. You were caught with your jocks around your ankles and instead of owning up to it, you're still digging.
where in midtown?
The USA (certainly the main population centres) is expensive, full stop, unless you stick to fast food and buy your drink in liquor stores.
Did that to us last year when we got the extra bank holiday on 18th March. Booked before the government announced the extra public holiday. Cancelled on us (we don’t have you down, etc) and then suddenly the price was way higher for us if we were to rebook
32nd and 5th I think
Edit: 39th an park.
The hotel and Vintners industry are greedy shiteawks trying to recoup money from Covid times and more.
We would normally have a holiday here in the summer but have elected to forgo it.
Can't justify the stupid gouging going on. And then they are constantly in the media with the poor me stories.
And don't worry, I've plenty of money but I'm smart enough to know when I'm getting screwed. The same as many others so be careful not to bite the hands that feed you. People are wising up and turning away from supporting hospitality in their droves.
Are you talking about a takeaway sandwich from a Spar shop?
Ireland had the highest prices in the EU 27 in 2021 at 143.8 per cent of the EU average, with Denmark and Luxembourg our closest competitors for that unwanted title.
In case there was any doubt
Genuinely spat my tea out when I read that comment.
Into Mr Chips for the fine dining. Activities include an afternoon at the local handball alley. You never know - you might meet Eddie Durkan or Buzz.
But that course of action is not very patriotic? Most of the taxes and spend went into the Spanish economy. When we need people to spend in Ireland in order to contribute to the Irish economy and taxes. We need this spend to help pay for public services & wages and of course, to help support all our other new committments.
I spend more then enough in Ireland thanks.
I have no idea how anyone can't find a hotel in Ireland for a midweek break for less than 500 euro.
We have loads of websites offering deals for midweek and weekend. Just one below. But you can find plenty others offerings deals all year round.

Rude to spit. Especially tea.
