Maybe.
But the UK ID.3 above is the old model too, so should have it?!
Yea you're right - there goes that theory 🤣
wow thanks. Just did that return trip today, departed home at 100%, arrived Enfield 60ish and charged to 80 ish. And that got me Dublin and back to Galway with 35km 'in the tank'. Thanks for the recommendation.
Sigh, Enfield charger, one Applegreen and one ESB different sides of the car park, zero marking for the charge level on the applegreen so I took the ESB as I have their app. The applegreen seems to suport tap payment - good! Stopped at Ionity Ahtlone, packed but didn't need to charge.
Interesting - had my route home on the car nav. It warned me to stop to charge, but I was confident I was 30-40km buffer so I 'risked' it. What I found interesting was the map, auto updated my route twice to find a charger - normal. But after the second routing (5km from home) it just kept telling me to go to this one particular charger even thou there were open ones right next to me. It's like the software just gave up trying :)
That’s good to know.
There’s a one-touch app in the OBDeleven system that does the rear speaker installation. Assume once it’s done correctly, the fader* will go front to back as well as the current side to side?
* - for the pedants, I know it’s technically not a fader if it only goes side to side. But that’s what it’s called on the screen.
Yeah, I've said that re wipers, will reiterate.
Have failed the software update 3 times now, so I've asked for them to complete the service and return my car until they get their act together - it's still there 10 days on.
Skoda superb, manual....
Ye that’s messing mate, that happened to me with 2.4, gave me some sort of a small petrol skoda, which cost serious money to run given I haven’t had a fossil fuel car in 9 years and insurance cost me €20 to change.
I rang them on day 3 and they said it wasn’t taking the update, I requested an ev loaner, they didn’t have one so I took my car back. Then realised someone had tried to disconnect the dash cam by pulling the adhesive mount off the windscreen.
Second attempt worked, some months later. I didn’t care how long it took because they gave me a stripped out id4 174, Spartan and lacking in power but an ev. Service was excellent this time and service girl was helpful, I believe she has now left western…put me on the garage insurance too.
When your booking in again insist on an ev loaner 👍🏻
Bosch aero twin ap30u for the wipers if they mess you about.
I have 18inch continental ecocontact6 tyres on my ID3. Anybody know if they are self sealing in the event of puncture?
Afaik the 18s don’t, 19inch do
It Was only an option with 19 inch wheels a couple of years ago but check the sidewalls for contiseal or something like that
I have the Bosch ap30u on mine too, much better that the factory fitted wipers.
Took the car to Dingle at weekend. Got there on Friday with 30% battery remaining. Charged in Moran’s Saturday morning to 90% ( 30 euro) while we went and got lunch. Had to rush back to get it before overstay fee. Back home yesterday and 17% left on battery. Headed out to shop after I got home too. Still love the car and have no idea what we will replace it with.
Have two spare Id3 tyres in my shed.
Posted this in the for sale section but posting here too.

surprised they're not gone as they're 196 new!
From where?
Carlow in a Tour.
Took the car to clare the weekend. Had it nearly 3 years now and battery still good. Full charge on a 58kw 423km.
Again, from where?
I did Donegal to Dublin at the weekend to stay a few days.
Left home on 90%, went via Belfast. Charged just outside Belfast from about 65-95%.
Charged again in Dublin yesterday at North Wall Quay to 85% and that got me home with 20% left.
Total cost on the road of about €40. €15 in Belfast, €25 in Dublin.
In a 77kwh tour, that's 287km for 70% which indicates a range of appropriately 410km, but @Liam2021's 58kwh ID.3 is telling him he's going to get 423km. Even if fits is driving at motorway speeds and Liam is tipping around on 100kph roads, it's difficult to reconcile the two? I'm not getting much more than 450km range on my 77kwh ID.4 tipping around on 100kph roads.
I was getting around 350km range from my 58kwh ID.3 at this time of year and about 270km in winter, with as low as 220km in sub zero conditions. I don't drive hard and almost no motorway driving. I don't know how some people are able to get such great range out of their cars. Great range figures being quoted on the Born thread too?
Well, they're only pictures of the predicted range after getting a 100% charge, actual distance covered by said charge is a lot different.
The total distance was 290 km
100 km of that was in motorway.
it was raining for last 100 km.
I can’t remember exact % on battery when we arrived but I reckon range was about 430 km including that significant motorway stretch.
but honestly I don’t think too much about the range because I don’t have to. Car easily meets our needs and more.
From meath, so motorway driving and national roads.
220km range from the ID3 58kw in the depths of winter without motorway driving is pretty awful though, right?
unfortunately I need to do 175km each way journey reasonably regularly (350km total). Zero opportunity to charge at destination. 1hr45min each way, 90/95% motorway, so it’s not a journey I’ve ever had to stop for a break on in 30 years doing it.
which family size cars do 375km range in the frozen depths of winter at 120kmph?
M3 LR too small for us.
ID4 77?
ID.3 Tour. You might need to charge on coldest days but will be fine otherwise.
I do 130 km return regularly and there’s plenty left.
280km for 70% matches my last trip west in my Tour5. Mostly motorway at 120kph, fully loaded, and a horrible rainy day, so I didn’t think getting there with 30% left was too bad.
thanks, that’s pretty much exactly what I was wondering - if I go from current vw pcp into an ID3, it needs to be the Tour
Do you need 5 seats?
You can get a tour 5 seater. Not available new now but they are available second hand.
that said our family of four dont miss the fifth seat at all.
Hi all, new owner of an ID3 pro here. I have a q and it may have been answered but I haven't found it through Google yet! How can I connect Android auto wireless AND maintain Internet connection on my phone? The fone thinks the the cars wireless is Internet and won't pick up mobile data as a result. (Huawei P30 pro BTW)
TIA!
Not an answer, but have an S20 and Honor phone both work fine. Forget the phone, then go to re add it perhaps.
I've tried already from the phone side but I'll give it a proper go tomorrow. Thanks for the tip, good to know it should work OK!
