That will make no difference because there is those that are unhappy now will not be impacted by this restriction staying or going.
I hope you don't take flights between 22:00 and 07:00 departing/arriving Dublin or departing/arriving at your destination during those hours.
Same people will be giving out stink if their Amazon packages are taking longer and also they'll all be using the airport for holidays.hypocrites
Certainly the airlines should blacklist them
I wonder how many jobs would be lost in the Fingal area if this sabotage of Dublin Airport were successful.
Beechwoodspark, your attitude is a disgrace.
The restrictions make no sense but they are what was granted - the DAA seem to have said, let’s build the runway and deal with that later, now they are ignoring it.
I can’t see it sticking - it’s too stupid, almost as stupid as no flights between 22hr and 07hr.
The restrictions were actually overturned by Fingal last summer and a noise quota was granted between 12-6 I think. However, the non-stop 5 moaning residents appealed this and it is now with ABP and has been since last August. So it would be unfair to lay all the blame of this on the daa but more should be directed to the unacceptable slow response by ABP.
I thought he/she/they was/are banned from from A&A ?!
How many jobs have been lost due to green policies like in bord na mona, agriculture etc?
Didn’t hear anyone coming out supporting them.
Thought it’s a climate emergency and we’re all meant cut back on damaging the environment????
We need to make it financially possible for the residents to move. I strongly suspect that there are other less sensitive people who would be happy to take their place, no need for "sterlilisation". However, I fail to see why a noise limit is unenforceable, a network of automatic noise monitoring stations can be established. It may also be possible to only allow modern relatively silent aircraft after 11 and before 7 or to set landing charges based on the noise of the aircraft.
Ireland is an island, you can't take a train to another EU country or even another airport with global access.
How can you suggest that some people be paid to move on the basis of the noise levels not being tolerable and that "other less sensitive people" (which sounds to me like some sort of euphemism) then be placed there instead? It's either OK to live there or it's not.
That would lead to absolutely thousands of people, mostly locals too, losing their jobs. More power to them?
Maybe it’s time we stopped weekends away to England for breaks etc.
Absolutely not. People are capable enough of deciding where they want to go and when. They do not need a dictator to decide for them.
What about work?
It is OK to live there, but some people may prefer not to live there. What is so complicated about that?
If Fingal CoCo are giving it all the Billy Big Balls, then its time this power was returned only to the IAA and the Government to legislate for the primacy of national assets and economic drivers to any other consideration.
In practice DUB gets quieter by night anyway, but its in the City and Country's interest that it be permitted to operate to max capacity 24/7 and then manage its own operations within that window.
And I say that as someone who lives under the climbout for Runway 28L. I have done for 17 years and I don't even hear them anymore.
I have relatives in the London suburbs who live 20 metres from a 6-track section of the Great Western Main Line, trains passing all day and night, sounding horns and after two days you don't hear them either.
A few people cannot and must not dictate the fortunes of the Airport and the only blockage in the way of fixing that is Eamon effing useless Ryan being in the relevant department.
But it’s an emergency.
Fingal County Council said they have the right to come in and demolish daa property. This is Ireland, it will never happen. Daa should force this national issue once and for all around the planning farce here... there are elections in final next year , local councillor idiots , want to maximise their chances of being reelected. These decisions are way out of their paygrade/ petty small dick syndrome...
Or Ryanair could day they will stop all flights from Dublin if this goes ahead, until its sorted properly. See how quick national government will have to deal with the fcc morons then...
Well then the idea of paying people to move falls flat.
That's the excuse that wannabe dictators have always used to sieze power.
No
I saw the post a few pages back with the number of flights that evening in the proposed curfew slot at around 130 between departures and arrivals. What would a typical number of total flights per day be? Just wondering if the removal of about 65 flights is such a huge dent in that number?
There are 700 scheduled movements today.
Thank you!
Apologies if this has been asked before, but why is 10L not used in weather like today's weather is? I've noticed in the recent bad weather that when the wind is easterly, all arrivals and departures have been using 10R. Maybe there's Low Visibility Procedures in operation, but why would that prevent use of the North runway, at least for easterly landings and if so, why? All a/c this morning having to join either the north or south holds, each doing multiple circuits, before being brought onto the 10R ILS, and a conga line of departures queuing to line up on the same runway. Is there some technical reason that 10L can't operate in the same way that 10R does when the weather closes in?
Ah .... 10L has just been opened for landing I see.
North Runway/10L generally doesn't open until 7am so any departures and arrivals scheduled before then will all have to use 10R. Some days depending on what works might be going on around the airfield/ATC staffing levels etc., 10L may not open as early as usual. That seems to have been the case this morning. At the moment 10L/28R is not allowed for low visibility approach operations due to new runway commissioning and phasing-in rules but it is fully equipped for low vis ops as and when it will be permitted.
Sorry your last line.
Thats completely untrue, it has nothing to do with commissioning or phasing in. The IAA has not approved the daa’s LVPs because they want ANI and the DAA to create joint rules and won’t approve the north runway for RVP or LVP operations till they are created and approved.
It has nothing to do with equipment either.
How did the current amount of aircraft movements in excess of planning permission get approved ? Surely thats an DAA board decision that they have written down somewhere
