Not a good look. I wonder did he go because this was going to come to light?

Its a cosy cartel that they all benefitted from for years. Nobody there really wants to stop the party going, just do enough with the optics to try and get this blown over, so they can get back to milking the system.
A lot of this relies on the public generally having short memories and getting bored or distracted with other stuff and let’s face it there are more important things going on. But to be clear I’m in no way excusing the wasteful nonsense that has clearly gone on in RTÉ.
I will double down on your comment about NKs imagination and will give €100 to anyone who can produce a shred of evidence that RT flew to the UK and met ANY TV execs in any capacity in the last month…that’s how confident I am it was all BS PR crap.
I am also confident that no London trip took place and I look forward to RT been asked about it and that last bit about asking RT is probably a figment of my imagination.
Doesn't stop him claiming the travel expenses back tho
Brendan Courtney just announced he's taking Tubridy's slot next week (while covering D'Arcy's slot this week).
Is there no beginning to this mans talents?
His highlight was Wanderlust.

So that Rose of Tralee wan was just a beard then...
I'd never get made today.
The show that gave us Baz.
He's a miles a better Radio presenter than Ryan Tubridy. His style is very relatable and the topics are wide ranging. He clearly does alot more research into his work than tubs
Tubs is reading what's in the papers for 30 minutes and giving us his opinion on old news stories and playing a few tunes that he likes. Interviewing an author he likes. The same format every day
She is on wikipedia as a comedian. I have never heard her show, so I cannot really comment on her, but I would wager that nobody was almost high-fiving Marty and that she is full of her own garbage. It might also be pertinent to point out that Marty may be a little more difficult to replace than the other two poor tormented angels. The absolute gall of her to try and paint any of them as victims. I would not be particularly fond or otherwise of MM but he definitely does not come across as self-entitled as either of those two, that article only seems to really cement the point the MM is more liked than they are. Poor dotes. That is their real issue.
Looking up the salaries, I cannot help but feel a little sick. I am surprised everybody paid the licence fee for so long without question.

https://www.thejournal.ie/rte-top-100-earning-staff-6109960-Jul2023/
I could not find a more recent version of this, which is mostly referencing 2021 which included lockdown and many cuts.
The average salary was €60,686 in 2021, which would roughly equate to €110m on wages alone, and "The figures do not include RTÉ's top earners including Ryan Tubridy, Joe Duffy and Ray D’Arcy as they are not RTÉ staff but independent contractors and are paid through companies that they have established."
So much money being pⅰssed into the wind it cannot be ignored. It leaves very little for much else after the other benefactors from the licence fee get their cut, and yet we have one poster on here constantly repeating that the licence fee should be enforced or even raised again because he has a nephew that works in the independent production sector. His ire is aimed in the wrong direction, but I have little doubt that is intentional.
As for Lottie, Doireann and Jennifer, they might do well to forget about how the public reacted to Marty over them, and start worrying about what bigger issues should be heading their way.
All journalists have sources and one has just told me some interesting titbits about the infamous RTE barter account. Would you like to hear more about it? It will be an eye opener for some.
"The figures do not include RTÉ's top earners including Ryan Tubridy, Joe Duffy and Ray D’Arcy as they are not RTÉ staff but independent contractors and are paid through companies that they have established."
It might well be a good idea to get RTE. to list the names of contractor's they pay, especially as I bet Jennifer and Doireann are contractors. And therefore omitted from the data it has released, n'est pas?
I would.
Do you need to ask?
Well just making sure. I don't want to offend anyone 😉
No Dr sightings - you're clear to go
Ready for eye openers; fire at will
He’s just checking with the legal team 🙄
61k average salary is pretty low tbh.
Not in an organisation of that size that's not tech or pharma. It is I suspect, a massive outlier.
Are you suggesting the staff in RTE are underpaid?
Not suggesting that, but an organisation with accountants, legal department, senior managers, TV and Radio presenters, tech professionals etc paying an average of 65k doesn’t sound high. It sounds low tbh, especially considering how hot the jobs market is in Dublin
By just mentioning the few highest paid sections that you could think of in there, you seem to have omitted the others that also work there on a lower salary. When companies like Intel for example release average figures across the company in Ireland, it is broken up from interns to seniors across a few fields, all different averages. That is not how it was done in this article, and as such, €61k would not be considered a low average salary by any stretch. The average salary in Dublin alone is around €38k iirc.
Exactly - half of them could be part time on full time wages
Half the place doesn't turn up on Friday, as just one example.
The problem here, as many have foreseen is that Horse Face O'Leary and The Gremlin Forbes get scapegoated (justifiably), and walk away with impunity (unjustifiably).
Meanwhile the rest of RTE shrug their shoulders and say it was nothing to do with them.
sarcasm is her thing rather than traditional comedy. Personally l don’t find her funny . But her attempt to muddy the waters by turning the RTE crisis into a male v female thing , through the public reaction to Marty as opposed to her two female friends is just silly. She missed the point, as an article in todays lndo points out. What she does re enforce is the absolute sense of entitlement and some of these “stars” have. Poor Lottie and Doireann, my heart bleeds.
No you are right about NK not having to wait for invoices to be paid but as I said the barter account was also been used to hide payments.
Who doesn’t turn up on a Friday? The clerical officers, engineers, lighting technicians etc? 65k average salary sounds low considering the number and complexities of roles there. And that it’s primarily based in South Dublin.
The average salary in the ESB is almost 80k and they’d have a much more geographically dispersed workforce and plenty of low skilled or semi skilled workers in the ranks.
I’m not disputing that for a second.
