"They argued that no manager has the experience Mickey does - winning Ulster" - not true
They said that of the 3 candidates currently nominated, none of them are as experienced as Graham. They also said that even though that is the case it didn't mean that one of the 3 might not end up being a better manager.
Fitz also said that things "had gone to ****" so you basically implying every 5 mins that they are Mickey Graham loyalists that never say a bad word about him isn't true either.
Took ya long enough with that reply that I knew you were struggling.
You disagree with my point - “they argued that no manager has the experience Mickey does - winning Ulster” but then go on to say “they said that of the 3 candidates currently nominated, none of them are as experienced as Graham”.
They do directly reference winning Ulster when talking about the “experience”. I’d suggest you listen to the podcast again.
And, as I said, I find that a null point because McDermott is more experienced than Graham was when Graham initially took the job - managed in a club All Ireland final, has managed intercounty & won senior championships in different counties.
Where did I say they didn’t say a bad word about him? Please don’t take a comment that they are pro Mickey and pull it to the extreme. There’s no denying things have gone to **** to be honest but they are about the only football people I’ve heard in the county that wanted him to stay.
There has been very little discussion about the low quality of some opposition we have lost to over the past three years.
Take here as a barometer, was there any poster saying he should stay on? Even the most ardent Graham supporters knew his time was up.
Don't flatter yourself lad, I'm away on hols. Not going to argue with you on this anymore but anyone who wants to can listen to the podcast and then decide if your comments are fair or not.
So you accuse someone of misrepresenting something, not giving any example at the time, then when challenged on it give a piss poor response and then run to the hills when challenged again? Fair enough if that’s the way you roll but not really worth challenging something if you haven’t the backbone or knowledge to follow it through.
You clearly have an agenda and if I wanted to waste my time "debating" with a fella like you I'd head over to hoganstand.
You don’t want a “debate” but you do want the last word here - you can’t have it all young man.
For a “debate” to take place, opposing views have to be put forward. You’re not adding anything here though - just making statements that you then aren’t willing to support.
You waited 2 days there hoping someone else would come onto the thread and change the subject and now you’re attempting to take the moral high ground. The holidays that stopped you replying for 2 days mustn’t be too interesting now!
Like I said above, there’s not really much point challenging something if you haven’t the backbone or knowledge to follow it through.
I think you should log off for a while CavanKing and get some fresh air.
This is bizzarely confrontational stuff to be posting on a GAA forum.
There’s hardly much confrontational about an anonymous internet messaging board.
Have you anything noteworthy to add to the discussion?
Internet message boards are for debate, opinion and discussion gents. Not much point logging on otherwise.
Seems there is a time limit to reply to certain posters now 😂. Keep shouting at the clouds lad
No Comment 🤣
Respectfully, if you think anybody is spending days mulling over responses on this forum and you find yourself posting about a stranger's "backbone" on the internet, you have lost perspective on things.
Danny Hughes throwing his name into the right. A random outside candidate.
You must have missed the day they covered hyperbole in school?
Anyone know what his managerial CV is like?
Won an intermediate in Down last year. Writes a column for the Irish News.
Other than that, very little I think.
He described Breffni as an “amphitheatre” according to the Celt so he obviously hasn’t been there for a while.
Its commonly described as a natural amphitheatre due to it being in a hollow.
Hughes seems an odd enough candidate in that he's an outside man with minimal experience.
I'd very very interested to know the backroom teams being put together by the Jason and Ray.
I wonder who Hughes has in his strong backroom team. Hopefully he isn't as defensive as most in Ulster ,if gets the job

Hughes was referencing his first Ulster Championship game in 2004 when we beat Down 3-13 to 2-12. It’s a long time since I last saw an atmosphere like that match in Breffni.
The rumour mill has it that McDermott may not even interview and that Ray Galligan all but has the job - make of that what you will.
They all have to be interviewed yet anyway. Hughes is a new contender.
Whoever the manager is the crap with the Gowna and Crosserlough players will have to be sorted.
How big an issue is this gowna v crosserlough thing? I mean bitter rivalry is part of the gaa but are we saying it's having an effect in the country dressing room or is it just being blown out of proportion on the rumour mill? Sound like a load of overblown rubbish to me.
It's been ongoing since the County Semi final last year and evaporated a bit more in recent months. But other Counties had problems too. St Vincents and Ballymun in the past. McMahon and Connolly knocking lumps in the car park after a game. Won All Ireland's at the same time.
There would be something wrong if there wasn't a bit of bite in there. You only need to respect your team mate, you don't have to like them.
There was a row in a pub in town a while back over something happened on the pitch in the game between the two last year. That’s about the height of it.
Both clubs showed they aren’t too worried about any perceived rivalry with their League semi final line ups.
About the half off it.
Slaps thrown? Or just mouthing off and talking through their arses.
Care to enlighten us further then?
Crosskeys must be the new “amphitheatre” in Cavan football. How do the county board explain Division 2 & 3 finals in Breffni but Division 1 isn’t?
Plenty of other grounds that would be more half way. Crosskeys isn't far from Crosserlough, unlike Kingscourt.
What pub in virgina was this in?
It’s a long time since any pub in Virginia had a doorman.
