Not a good look. I wonder did he go because this was going to come to light?

Don't worry, his new friend Bakhurst will look after him and many of his poor befuddled 'fans' will tune in to listen to his sad wee tales.
He scammed the public and his colleagues by misrepresenting his pay and pay cuts. While at the same time he demanded from RTE that he wouldnt have his pay cut and got a letter from DG confirming that.
The entire Renault arrangement was a sham and a scam to funnel under the counter payments to Tubridy.
He didn’t scam anyone.
Yep. Sure why not blame Tubs for the nation's suicides and the housing crisis why don't ya. He's being blamed for everything else.
As has been stated before if Ryan did no wrong, why did he apologise?
He scammed the licence fee payers and tax payers and colleagues. Making false declarations about pay cuts so that RTE could play the poor mouth to the government and get government money. All the while demanding guarantees from RTE that his pay wouldnt be cut.
He is a scammer and a sham.
He's not responsible for those. What he is responsible for is telling porkies and fooling people into thinking that he took a pay cut and was a great man for doing so. 'We're all in this together' kind of ****.
He did wrong for not correcting RTE but he didn't scam anyone. He got paid what he was contracted to be paid.
No matter how many times you say it, it’s still wrong.
He got paid no more than he agreed with RTE and Renault.
Some interesting news on NKM that some of you will find interesting.
Kevin Bakhurst is leaving the news about Ryan’s return to the airwaves until the last possible minute
His failure to meet an undertaking he gave freely will not engender a lot of confidence in his management skills, if he expects anyone to believe he’s capable of steering the Titanic away from the iceberg. “C-suite” it ain’t
Did you make this up?? I am pretty sure you did.
It was a scam. A dishonest scheme. Dictionary defintion.
The entire Renault deal was a scam to funnel money to Tubridy. Renault didnt pay any new money for the sham events.
And Tubridy scammed everyone with his lies about pay cuts while getting a guarantee from RTE he wouldnt be affected.
He did not correct the public record on his rte remuneration. He was dishonest to his financial advantage at cost to public funds.
Another low down dirty dishonest scheme - a scam.
100% a scam.
Didn't he commit to paying money back? Which dodgy payment I am not sure.

Was it Tubbs who benefitted from the taxi for €874 to Dundalk or was it some other NKM employee? For some reason that annoys me more than the flip flops!
It was Drogheda not Dundalk and it was a high up employee of NKM
"I don't give a **** about this guy's problems, and here's why" is not the same as blaming him for the housing crisis.
As has been said multiple times, the key issue with his scam is that he was leeching money out of the public purse at a time when funding shortages directly led to deaths. So if someone's going to use their NKM astroturfing time to whinge about whether he's being negatively affected now that his scam has been uncovered, it's quite reasonable to point out that he deserves it all, the hypocritical little scumbag.
RTE are the employer. The buck stops with them on this issue.
I can go in to my employer tomorrow and come up with creative ways they could pay me more. Ultimately they decide and they are responsible.
They have ultimate responsibility.
You/Tubridy are culpable if you make dishonest public statements which conceal or pretend those creative payments dont exist. Lying by omission. Such conduct should have consequences for reputation and future contracts.
Again I have to say if this is true why did Ryan apologise?
You're missing the point, it was stated that people would not notice an extra €8 in tax, my point was that they would notice.
‘Twas a chauffeur driven car, if you don’t mind 😀
The upcoming 15c plus on motor fuel plus further promised carbon taxes, together with the continued exorbitant cost of electricity and food is far more impactful to most taxpayers and yet I don't hear any outcry that incumbent TDs would get re elected on the back of such decisions. Whilst the RTE debacle is difficult to stomach it's a minor irratation relatively speaking for the majority of hard pressed taxpayers at this moment in time.
It wouldn't matter if they were already paying the license fee
i didn’t know about the 15c but yes making the people pay for a tv license would be huge
How many things happened after the crash yet everyone lost the plot over water, the one thing we actually need to live
More than any of that, he misrepresented himself.
For years he presented himself as, to quote his agent, "the most trusted man in Ireland". That trust is gone, because it was built on a foundation of deceit and lies.
Where did it come from that the car was for her?
At the committee RT was asked about it and said the car was for him.
Surely that puts distance between the truth and RT saying the Renault gig was a seperate business deal.
I don’t know if I’ve mentioned it before but I think this was handled well from a bad news/incident management perspective.
Bad news coming - get the story out there and get a good amount of outrage going from Paddy Cosgrave, Ewan MacKenna, and the usual all-day-anger merchants on sites like Twitter and Reddit.
Throw a few people under the bus and agree to appear before a committee.
Throw plenty of petrol on the outrage bonfire.
Paddy and Pamela Taxpayer soon lose interest and within a few weeks all you have is poundshop Vincent Browne’s like Fionnan “Permanent Irritability” Sheehan going on about it.
Funnily enough I wonder was NK involved in it? Slow dripping a story like this on the cusp of silly season is the wrong approach. Outrage bubbles burst quickly especially in the era of social media, permanent anger and fast moving indignation.
It was a relative nothingburger, but well played whoever handled it.
A relative nothingburger that sees licence fee renewals down significantly?
A 27 per cent drop in licence fee renewals isn't a "nothing burger" for RTE.
And who knows what it is doing to RTE advertising rates and revenue.
Your concept of 'well played' doesn't match reality.
