i spent a lot of time worrying whether i was even going to complete the correct course haha! I am not good following directions at the best of times. When gasping for breath and trying to avoid puddles etc., I was even worse
Had seen this alright. I don't think they'll get an alternative route agreed upon. It would mean moving some of it up to the higher level of the park and not sure that is going to be a runner.
There's a market up in the top part of the park on Saturday morning so probably not possible.
All the blackboard art is up on instagram by the way...

I took this photo in the park this morning. No timetable for reopening the affected areas.
Yeah I emailed the Glen in Wicklow and they said no to running it, but they take people who want to be regular volunteers.
Tymon also off this weekend. Looks like it will be Marlay or Dodder park for us.

Back next week with a new route: https://www.facebook.com/people/Bushy-Dublin-parkrun/100064752401153/
Some footage of the Inis Meáin parkrun which welcomed over 200 tourists on what appears to be a well organised charter trip out.

If you are wondering what is likely to be the most isolated Parkrun in the world, I think this might be in with a good shout. (Photo is stock and not from the event)
Yikes
There was severe flooding in the Clontarf area with residents of an apartment block and nearby houses evacuated.
Got to pay a visit to Fountains Abbey in Yorkshire over the long weekend as I was staying in the area. Beautiful location for an event, the abbey ruins are quite something to wander around afterwards.
Dame Kelly Holmes was at Tramore Valley parkrun this morning, annoyingly none of us realised it until afterwards.
Btw the event there is cancelled for the next two weeks, resumes on Sept 2nd. Ballincollig & Glen River are available for your parkrun fix in Cork city.
Ran Marlay this morning for the first time, finished an 8 mile easy run with it.
Lovely parkrun, great park in general.
Place was chock full of runners at 8.30, was great to see.
There was a huge group of about 50 doing some sort of hard session, all running at a clip.
Anyone able to shed light on who they were and what the session was?
Brothers Pearse on the concert field and TT Racers do be on the grass. Best parkrun around imo.
Avondale forest.
Brickfields.
St Anne’s.
Castlebar.
Pobalscoil na Troinoide Youghal.
Tramore valley Cork.
All off today
Malahide off
Bushy park is cancelled this week due to a tree falling on the route.
Brooks doing a promotion at Marlay this morning, should be interesting, if the trial pair of runners I've signed up for fit me...!
Hi all. In Westport, we are having our 10th anniversary parkrun this Saturday, the 9th of September. There will be cake! Anyone contemplating some parkrun tourism we'd love you to come along. We hope to break our attendance record.
Has anyone done Milan Nord?
Castletown parkrun postponed until further notice

Ah no that's very disappointing for them. Did that parkrun earlier this year and it has a really great community feel to it and in a fab location.
It is a fantastic event in a lovely location. Must be very difficult for the event team being in a situation beyond their control. Hopefully it can be sorted soon
Very sad about Castletown. Ran it a few times, always loved it.
But, Waterford city has a new parkrun starting up on Sept 30. It's at the SETU arena. I ran the old one at Waterford Nature reserve and loved it. I hope this one is permanent.

3rd one around a college after Athlone and Dundalk.
Still think I'll use Tramore to tick off Waterford though.
I'm getting private words that the 30th September start date is not set in stone so hold off booking local accommodation if you were planning on going to the inaugural run.
It is on the cancellation page that it won't be going ahead on the 30th as they aren't ready to start
Couple of questions.
1. Any update on when SETU Arena Parkrun is starting? I see the landing page is gone off the map.
2. What's the story with France? Still suspended over some Covid certificate requirement. Surely there must be a resolution to that on the horizon at this stage?
I don't think covid was specifically the reason. Latest update here which would indicate no change
AFAIK, that sort of remains the case. Central government have removed the requirements for a medical cert to partake in sporting events like parkrun but some local governments are still insisting on it. It is nothing to do with Covid, rather it is a medical cert from a doctor that you are able to do parkrun safely. Until all local governments remove the requirements, parkrun won't be resuming in France.
