"....The airshows of the past will not be recreated anywhere..."

    Sorry I took this literally.

Perhaps I should have typed “ the Irish airshows of the past”, the prior posts were about Salthill and Baldonnell.

On a different note, the forecast isn’t that good for next weekend. Light rain both days.

One of the best airshows I was at Fairy House, the sheer noise of a phantom and the trail of smoke it left. Then a F15 going over at low level, then going vertical through the clouds. Was a lot aircraft and civilian aircraft back then. As there was in Baldonnel.

Weather forecast bad for next weekend 😕.

Nice display at Baldonnel today, Pc9s display 3 aircraft.

Forecast for Sunday in both Met Eireann and yr.no had moved around a fair bit. Currently looking a lot better from a rain perspective, although on the cloud front I dunno. Fingers crossed!

Saturday looks pretty bad with wind and showers BBMF won't fly in wind of 20 knots wonder if they will even bother to come over with that weather.

There's an event at Baldonnel tomorrow Friday at 10am, so there maybe some action, also some aircraft should arrive.

Forecast says "light rain" with WSW winds of "up to 40km".

Which is approx. 22 knots (online calculator used) So that's looking tight.

Im currently 60/40 in favour of staying at home.

According to the attached, it looks as though the Red Arrows will be arriving at around 6:30 on Saturday evening. From previous posters on here, destination has been mentioned as Dublin rather than Baldonnel

Dublin Airport as far as I know.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 445 ✭✭Rock Solid

Nothing on BBMF website that mentions Bray

Do you know if they're likely to pass over Dublin port and up the Liffey a little on the way?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 54 ✭✭chimp77

In previous years they have so don't see why not this time. The Bray Airshow social media normally gives notice of this closer to the time.

I would say so, they are coming straight from another airshow in the UK that day.

Bray Facebook page confirmed the reds are doing a fly past only on Saturday with full display on Sunday.

Which way they route is anyone's guess at the moment I'd say.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 445 ✭✭Rock Solid

According to Red Arrows Transit routes they will be at Bray for flypast at 18.20 and landing at Dublin which probably means Dublin Airport.

On Sunday the display time is 17.16 then straight back to the UK

That seals it for me. I was planning on going on Saturday. No Reds means my 60/40 dilemma is now 80/20

    Looked like the Viggen.

    Viggen on approach to Baldonnel

Damn - was wondering what was out there near Blackrock, but couldn't anything see from my window; however it must have been far enough away horozontally or vertically to render the sound not too startling

    Yes

Viggen great that it's hear this year

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,370 ✭✭✭TheAnalyst_

    • Sweden’s Saab 37 Viggen will ‘thunderbolt’ across the Bray skyline

Does this mean it will be a simple flypast or can we expect a full display?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 445 ✭✭Rock Solid

Blasting Baldonnel out of it now, high speed low pass over runway 28 and doing display !

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 445 ✭✭Rock Solid
