A good few years ago, if you could stomach the high tax or avoid checkpoints, there was some value to be had on pre-08 stuff. They’re all gone now. Run into the ground or exported or uneconomic to repair.
Only about 20% of the cars in the road are pre-08 now anyway and most of them would Yaris etc.
This thread is dead too. Even at 3 grand it’s hard to find bangernomics.
Yeah there's always a couple on DD. They fetch €7-9k but they hold their value well.
it's their reliability that stands out for me. I've met a few other owners over the years and they all said there's nor real issues with them.
Comfort is incredible, up there with earlier S-Class or 7-Series.
It's not the same after the boards reboot.
There are actually loads of sub 2k cars with fresh NCT, but they are just a bit boring and not worth posting.
But yeah its very hard to find anything luxurious these days for under €5k. Especially with NCT

Just check for chain rattle on cold ( make sure it is stone cold) and this will give you years of motoring. Impossible to kill this engine.

The estate is 2.0T which is the engine sold in the AERO models
1.8i (1.8 litre 125hp non turbo)
1.8t (2.0 litre 150hp turbo)
2.0t (same 2.0 175hp turbo)
2.0T (Same 2.0 210hp BIGGER turbo). ALL SAME BLOCK REALLY.
They are plug and play though,
the 1.8t will map to 210hp
the 2.0T will map to 250hp.
But if you're looking as the best block to start the b207r, 2.0T in the estate has the best engine, has bigger exhaust cams, sodium valves and oil squirters on the pistons.
