The ed sheeran shows were from 2021 allowance and both that and Garth were seen by residents on vox pops etc as fair due to none during covid.
very much doubt that 7 a year plus very busy summer in croke park with new schedule would exactly be welcomed at either residents or council level
They didnt break the Coldplay news, most people in the know knew Coldplay were playing Dublin next year and they were likely to announce it after this years tour finished the same as they did at the end of last summers tour.
I said on here after Harry Styles Slane gig that Coldplays management had confirmed that Coldplay would be playing Ireland in 2024.
They said it would be announced on Thursday is what I was referring to. Nobody had said that before they did and they were correct on the date which is a helluva coincidence
AC/DC are touring, if they on Euro dates you'd have to say Slane is the likely destination. Aviva tickets went fairly rapid if I recall.
Yeah IF they tour and play Ireland Slane may be the most likely unless they play 1 Croke Park or Aviva show

I'd say zero chance unfortunately. They've marketed their gig tomorrow night in London (which is streaming) as the only full album live performance and having just played here, I'd wouldn't be surprised if it was 2+ years until they return.
I don't see why they couldn't do a UK & Ireland arena tour next year
cause they have other things to do and played 20 massive shows this summer across europe.
their reunion runs have always been Time limited, albarn has half a dozen other projects going

Exciting time for that region of England with Evertons new stadium opening soon too and no doubt it will be a concert venue
Manchester arena owned by AEG, whilst live nation will no doubt try to take over the new arena as their north of England base.
AEG do likes of Hyde park shows in London so they have massive clout with acts.
Ticketmaster queue question…
I started at 9900 for Coldplay today, friend was just over 12000.
For same day, same queue
by the time I was 4500 we were nearly level, then he was at 1000 when I was 1600 and he got in 10 mins before me. Anyone any ideas how his went down quickly and mine didn’t
he got 4 tks, I got none
Quite simply it’s the chain of slots/lines.
ticketmaster may have 600 live spots at a given second to select tickets/process payments. So when you started at 9900 you needed 16 assigned people ahead of you in queue ahead to finish their transaction before you got your turn, he needed 20 people.
if his 20 people ahead in his queue were quicker than your 16, he jumped up higher in chain to you. If some of his jumped out of queue then he leap frogged you.
it’s the same the as a supermarket queue, might be more people in his queue but people in yours were slower to finish their transactions.
Coldplay add 2 more gigs on the Sunday and Monday. They're hardly do 5 gigs will they?!
The existing arena lobbied strongly against it. it's a bit mad really. The existing one was the largest in Europe when it was built and is still the largest in the UK and 4th largest in Europe with a capacity of 21,000. The new one which will be part of the Manchester City/Etihad complex will accommodate 23,500. Over the summer they had Elton on in the Arena over 3 nights, the Arctic Monkeys at Old Trafford and Coldplay at the Etihad over 4 nights out of 5, all within those 5 days. And then they have the Apollo and 3 venues at the University. It's gone from the sublime to the ridiculous - when I was a student there we had the Apollo with a capacity of around 3,000 and the University student's hall accommodating around 1,000 and a nightclub called Rotters that hosted the occasional gig
And you have the warehouse project complex which can do 5000-10,000 cap events

Those were my student days in Manchester
Back in 1991 I went to the Apollo and University on consecutive nights. The Pogues fronted Joe Strummer at the Apollo, and Ramones in the University. Great gigs ... you were probably there Beasty !
Was working about 500m or so away from the Apollo, but was about 3 years into what turned out to be over a third of a century with the one company (the last 15 or so in Dublin). Gigs had taken a back seat, with United being my main focus during those years (as well as getting married in the Seychelles in 1991). It's only the last 4 years that I've been getting back into going to gigs as my workdays reduced in advance of full retirement just over a year ago and the kids not requiring much attention (although grandchildren are taking over on that front!).
