I loved the TC's....might have a look at these guys.

Speed 3's are a cracking pair of shoes. I've been wearing them on a few steadier LRs recently and they've felt great. Have you ran in the Pro 3's or the Elites? I have the Speed 2 & Pro 2 and I genuinely couldn't feel a difference. Pro's a bit lighter, but not noticeably so.

I got the Pro 3s last year for the Amsterdam marathon, shortly after they were released, and they proved a great choice. I raced a 5k in them recently too and hit a PB so they're quick over all distances. That said, I'm planning on using Alphaflys for my next marathon. I got a pair in the Black Friday sales and I've found them just a little bit faster than anything else I've tried. I'm saving them for target races so the Pro 3 is getting plenty of use as a session shoe.

I'd say there's a fair difference between the Pro and the Speeds. The Pro feels lighter and stiffer, as you'd expect and the upper is quite different. Haven't tried the Elites so no idea there.

I ordered the Triumph 20 after the comment stating that Evri is Fastway. They seem to have a deposit in Rathcoole, for example.

It is possible that they will deliver to my house, but from the communications received so far it looks like I'll need to collect from a deposit.

It should take 48 hours, so I will know more soon.

Pro Direct Running / Soccer use Evri and have delivered to my house without any issues in the past. Pretty sure it was Fastway who made the delivery.

Arrived back from holidays yesterday and my neighbour handed my triumph 20s I had ordered. Put them on straight away and took them out for a spin in the lashing rain. Lovely and comfortable on foot and good room in the toe box. Not an overly soft ride which is good and a bit of bounce too. These will be perfect for me plodding along. Normally use the puma vn2 so a bit of extra cushion here. Didn't feel as confident in the rain with the triumphs, the pumas have amazing grip in the wet. Overall happy so far

Evri is just hermes rebranded. Useless over here.

They should deliver my shoes very soon, I'll keep you posted.

Needed to get some runners for DCM prep - was running in a Hoka Arahi 6, I thought they were just ok.... my first venture in a Hoka shoe, now I raced and trained in these and they got a good work-out but the performance of the shoe dipped around the the 350km mark and there was noticeable wear on the inside heel cushioning by 500km - they don't hold up to a Brooks Glycerin GTS.

However I have now thrown caution to the wind and gone for a PUMA rotation combo (primarily based on some great reviews and value for money on the Lifestyle website)

    • PUMA Forever Run Nitro: for steady KM's / recovery runs. Took them for a 10km last night , good cushioning, decent degree of stability on first impression though maybe less structured than the Hoka and a Brooks say. Early days granted but they felt good underfoot. These were €160 RRP and got them for €100.
    • PUMA Deviate Nitro Elite 2: for tempo sessions and summer races. These are my first carbon plated shoe's, felt they were great value for money to introduce me to this type of shoe, haven't ran in these yet and looking forward to tempo session this week to try them out. Review to come. These were €200 RRP and got them for €134.

Genuinely interested to see how PUMA performs to someone who has kept relatively conservative to stability shoes from Asics and Brooks over the years.

I'm thinking of trying the Boston 12 but I have a question for anyone familiar with Adidas sizing. In all other brands I get an EU 45. Adidas don't have that. Should I just stick with my usual UK 10 which is a 44.xx in Adidas?

On the older Bostons I needed an extra half size up so went 10.5 instead of 10 in UK sizing, not sure if that still applies to the version 12.

Check out the recommended shoe sizes on https://www.sportsshoes.com/ They get you to input a known good shoe size and then recommend what size to order on other models.

I received my Triumph 20 today, after they attempted a deliver yesterday while I was not at home. Yesterday Fastway mailed me advising me they'd deliver during the day, and I was given a chance to select a "safe place" (which I don't have) or have them delivered to my neighbour (but he's abroad this week).

All in all they did well, in my case.

Great, was just curious did they come to your house or if you had to collect. Going to order the same.

Let us know how the Triumphs are

Haven't worn Adidas for a while, but back in the good old days of the Adios Adizeros I used to go a half size up from what I would usually wear.

I'ma size 10 in most runners. I got the Adidas Adios 7s a few months back in a size 10 but really should have gone up a half size in them.

I have the Boston 12 and went with my usual UK 10. Similar to you, I am 44.5 in some makes, 45 in others. The fit is great, roomy enough at the toe. It's a great shoe, really enjoying it.

Does anybody keep the shoe boxes? My wife wants them gone, but I'm thinking if I end up buying 7-8 pairs it might be a problem to store them all?

I'm a 44.5 (which they call a UK9.5) in Asics (although one pair didn't fit at 44.5) and similar to @AlmightyCushion I got a Size UK 10 in the adios 7 and they didn't fit right and I returned them. The narrowness of the toe box is what caught me, I think going up a size would have helped, but maybe just me and addidas aren't a good fit. I have very limited experience with running runners though, so my only point of reference is asics.

I don't keep them once they start getting used. If they aren't getting used yet I feel like its easier to keep them organised if they are in a box, just throw them on top of the wardrobe or whatever.

I have one of those door shoe hanger things to try keep some order on my shoes! We have one on the wardrobe door and one at the garage door. Neither doors fit with the hanger btw so they are screwed to the door.

Although I've never had 7-8 in rotation at the one time!

I only keep them for shoes I won't wear much or won't wear for a while. The only pair I have in the box now are my race day shoe.

I ended up sending my Adios 7s back the other day. The upper ended up ripping in them. Seems to be common enough from googling it after I noticed the tears. Same exact place in every picture I seen. Even the guy in Lifestyle said he had seen a few come back with the same issue.

Saucony Axon 3 for £77. Seems to be a decent range of sizes available.

Very interested to read this as the NB Fuelcell TCs are my all time favourite shoe, I still don't get why they discontinued it after one iteration 😏 I thought it was a great shoe that could do it all and could do it all for a heck of a lot of miles too, first shoe I've worn where the upper gave in before the sole.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,237 ✭✭✭AuldManKing

It certainly has the feel from the TC's - but with a LOT more cushion. Not sure I'd buy them at full price though, so look out for the bargains. Its a real all rounder - easy, steady, MP. Not tried them on faster stuff yet but they feel like they could handle it.

    There's 10% off at sportsshoes.com

I received a personalised code, probably anyone can get it if they join their newsletter, or maybe I got it because I had ordered the Triumph.

Don't think I'll use the code, if I don't I'll give it to someone here. Valid till Saturday only though.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 418 ✭✭robnet77

Does anyone want the aforementioned 10% discount code? Only if you intend to use it, please. I'll PM it, in case.

Re the Supercomp trainer, would they be good for marathon training? How are they for stability, and do you find them heavy on longer runs?

Need new shoes ASAP and these are 40% off on the women's, which is actually putting me off - like, what's the catch?

Previous foamy shoes that I've had were Nike Zoom Fly 4, all other shoes I had were more solid and lower stacked, much lower. The Nikes were fine but I did feel they became less stable over time. Still, I got about 1200km out of them.

These fuelcells are stacked at a whopping 47mm and weigh over 11 ounces.

Anyone with any advice? much appreciated 🙏🏽 👍🏼
