The incompetence of my VW dealer never ceases to amaze...
After spending a week waiting for an email reply from the girl in services, I called up and found that she had left the company.
Then booked in for my 2 year service at the start of the month, and also reported my foggy front headlamp and my green fuzz on the front camera.
Called them this morning to confirm everything for Monday, and they've no record of the service or camera, and it's just booked in for the headlight replacement.
No clue if the parts are in stock for the camera. No clue what car I have booked for a courtesy.
They don't have the equipment to check for the battery recall, even though the previous girl insisted that they did.
This is exact reason I sold mine and moved on. Spent way to much time arguing and double checking the dealer. Can't say I'm missing it.
Collected the car yesterday with no hitches.
Coach up to Dublin and taxi to Joe Duffy's. Whole handover process was seemless. They certainly know what they're doing!
PCP process was ridiculously easy when I ordered a few weeks back. Couple of questions over the phone, including how much my take home pay was monthly. No proof of anything required, or other monthly outgoings, and approval was granted within a couple of hours! If I'd known it was that easy, I'd never have bothered with the jumping through hoops of previous loans!
Anyways, they'd her charged to 94%. I'd asked for 100% for the journey home, was told they're only allowed to charge to 80% (not like @Padraig Mor's experience with his Born), but they topped her up to 94% in the couple of hours before collection. So cruise was set at required speed limits, pretty much 250km door to door, and arrived home with 19% remaining. Happy out with that.
She's certainly a step up from the 2008 Prius she's replacing!
Looks great! Well wear. Decent enough range as well for a long motorway journey.
Aye.
I've no fear of herself going anywhere in it, which is/was always gonna be the biggest concern. Have to leave it in ECO for her though, as she'd not be trusted in anything "sportier"! 😂
Well the dealer must have been reading here...
Just got a call back. Confirmed camera booked for repair, headlight booked, service booked and they'll do the check to see if the battery module job is needed.
And I've got a Buzz for 3 days as a courtesy!
Stick up a few photos/thoughts on the Buzz.
That's because your moaner-in-chief, now that @Rusky rusky has a Tesla.
A good few of us seem to have gone to the dark side😁.
Me , you, Silent, Rusks.. Any others?
Me
Me.
You didn't move from an ID3 to a Tesla did you?
No, I thought you meant going EV 🫣.
Yep - MY
Going from the Tesla into the id3 is like going back to the 1980’s 🤣
That said I don’t get to drive it much and prefer the understated nature of the Tour and anonymity of the id3, the range for an out and back and the matrix lights.
Right, have had a bit of a play. Couple of observations/questions/annoyances.
Turned off gesture control. Seems more trouble than it's worth.
Haven't used voice control. Probably never will.
Different users. What's that for? I've herself as primary user and me as a guest. But nothing seems to change between the two. I'd like to have her on the ECO driving setting and myself on the sport. But it always just seems to revert to "comfort" once the car starts.
The built-in satnav. Does it not recognise Eircodes? It didn't for me when testing while ago, and as such seems completely redundant.
Thought she had the "moving" indicators. Doesn't.
Two "speakers" in the rear door cards with no speakers inside. Tripe.
Do like the fact you can store internet radio stations in your favourites with normal station. Now I get to listen to my Regenbogen 2 - Metallica. 🤘
You can send eircodes from the app to the car, nor sure if its any more reliable since the updates, it was very hit and miss.
Voice control has improved a lot in 3.2 and is handy for adjusting aircon. I don’t use it for anything else really.
I don’t use gestures but like that it shows labels on the various screen options when it sees a hand approaching.
The guest profile reverts to default settings, I noticed that in a loaner id.4 I think you need to set up a user to keep preferences.
Turning radius is another one. It wouldn’t be a deal breaker if I were thinking of a change, but I appreciated how easy the ID.3 is to get in and out of tight spaces after trying an M3.
Eircodes work with 3.2
In the car? Didn't think of trying
Yes.
Anyone use the cars navigation system to plan charging on a long trip. We didn’t realise the functionality in time for France.
Mine is on 3.2 and doesn't work.
This was totally unreliable for me pre 3.2, sometimes tour destination would arrive in an hour, sometimes 2 days, sometimes never.
Since the 3.2 update it's usually within seconds, never more than a minute.
Just checked there.
The sending from app works.
I tried to manually enter 3no. Eircodes. 2no. started with T and 1no. started with P. The 2no. T Eircodes weren't recognised (one is my home address), and the 1no. P Eircode (my sister's address 15 km away) was recognised straight away. Strangely, the T Eircodes (as it auto-completes) were bringing me to Spain!
I've 2no. profiles setup. My wife is the primary, and I guess I'm an "other" user? I'm listed next to "guest".
Anyways, I change her mode to ECO and mine to sport, and when we each login then next time, we're reverted back to Comfort.
Also, when I go into "Shop", it just says something like "we're updating, please come back later".
Here are our software settings.
I misread, thought you meant that you were using the guest profile.
I have mine set to individual and it stays set. You would need to set the options individually but it should work.
I’ll check later to see if eco stays set.
as for the shop, you could try signing out your account and logging in again. Does the car have a 4g signal? If not you might have to pull fuse 19 to get it back.
Eircodes not working for me.
[deleted]
Eircodes working for me. Tried it today. Have 3.2 update.
Can someone check T45 RT62?
Random Cork Eircode.
